Why are assault weapons so deadly?

Guns are dangerous because it takes little effort to kill another human being. Bad guys love guns and have guns. They could have illegal semi-auto rifles and maybe even full-auto assault rifles. Why would any law abiding citizen want to disarm themselves?

So the citizens have to get bigger guns to compete with the bad guys (whoever they are) who are getting bigger guns etc etc etc

It's ok to criticize people for quoting Lott and Kleck for being biased, but somehow ok to quote from Mother Jones sources when that site is considered one of the most gun control rabid sites around?

 

Just not happening in real life. Criminals are pretty much using handguns, which have remained pretty much unchanged in 30 years (about 94% of all gun murders are done by handguns). Love the way people who know nothing about the technology make inane comments like the above.

 

And don't forget to add that the 1911 pistol and S&W DA revolver have both passed the One hundred year mile marker.

I used to build flintlock rifles...I and most of the people that acquired one of mine used them for hunting and history related events. Not too practical for self defense.... Wait while I prime my pan...

I do, not for defensive purposes, although you could use a flintlock for personal Defense, if you had to in a pinch, hunting has a muzzle loader only season.

I build them, I liked giving them as gifts, once I had built them.

 

Nice image, but it is not a bullet. A bullet does not have the explosive warhead that cannon round has.

 

If not for inane comments, liberals would be speechless. What a blessing THAT would be, viz speechless liberals.
