    It's only a dangerous precedent when muslims come into play...Sharia law sucks the enjoyment out of life. Who would ever want to live under that sh#t?

    Seriously, I never got beat up at the mall nor anywhere for saying, "merry Christmas". And for nativity scenes on public property, that is against the constitution and has been found time and again to be illegal.

    I really don't know if he's a Christian or not.

    All I know is he doesn't put up with that "happy holidays" crap when it's Christmas we are actually celebrating.

    Trump is what is best for the American people.

    And yet it remains a secular federal holiday. While Christians throughout history are responsible for much good and advancement, they are also responsible for much evil and backward thinking.

    Are they? Last time I checked Christians aren't walking into crowded markets and schools with C4 strapped to their chests.

    I mean if you want to get chronological I guess maybe your statement would apply say, ~1000 AD?

    I will agree, the 2nd part of the above sentence seems to be too esoteric for many people to comprehend.

    It's only secular because unlike the theocratic gov'ts our forefathers came from, we wanted separation of church and state, and that's a good thing. However, make no mistake about what Christmas is all about. It's about celebrating Christ's birth. This is not a jewish thing, it's certainly not a muslim thing, and atheist, well, let's just say they sure enjoy the holidays!

    I will agree that Christianity has had it's bad moments. That said, nowhere else in the world is there a better place to live than the united States, of which identifies largely as a Christian Nation. nowhere else, is there any place like it!

    Christmas is a secular holiday. It was initially a pagan holiday for the winter solstice. Christians stole it, like all their other holidays.

    I love living here. But your statement is entirely subjective.

    Actually, the original reason for the season is the celebration of the Solstice and the return of the sun. Many of the things Christians do, such as decorate their homes, light a yule log, hang mistletoe, light candles etc. were done by the Pagans.

    People were saying "Happy Holidays" at Christmas time in 19th Century America.

    I'll bet some people would really be ticked off at FDR.

    You're right it always has been to those of us that put PC in the trash bin long ago. In recent years there have been businesses that have put up signage and ads that have said things like Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas, afraid to offend. Just today while watching a football game I saw on the screen crawler Merry Christmas while in past years it has always said Happy Holidays. Things HAVE changed.
