That's not how I'd choose to combat terrorism - do you want increase vetting for certain countries? Sure, I could be open to that. But I don't like broad brushes, and I think what makes us strong is that often the best and the brightest from all over the world come here to live, contribute and be a part of our process. I am unaware of any serious attempt to enact Christian Canon Law, Islamic Sharia Law, or Jewish Talmudic Law in any jurisdiction in the nation.

1: There is considerable difference between the age of Aisha asserted by Bakhari and others. Aisha's testimony would make her around 19 or so at marriage and consummation.
2: What is paedophilia today was a normal part of society then. Girls were married incredibly young because society then was incredibly brutal towards girls/women.
3: The US today (in some states) still has 12 as the minimum marriageable age. That whole 'people in glass houses should not throw stones' thing applies.
4: Most Islamic states do not allow marriage below puberty.

The US military understands the recruitment problem even though it is a mystery to the average person. To put it in the simplest terms those who have nothing have nothing to lose. So by giving them something worthwhile now they have something to lose and that makes them harder to recruit. Having a job and a family now is better than some imaginary virgins.

 

Attacking someone's religion is a dumb move because it just motivates them to fight for it instead.

Terrorists want your attention and your fear.

Don't give them either.

I think I've figured out why the left supports Islam so much. It confused me for the longest time. Why would a substantial group of people support an ideology which opposes (with extreme violence) most everything they stand for?

I have come to believe that it comes down to one thing. They are both equal in their hatred of Christianity and Christians. They both see Christianity as a great evil that must be eliminated.

Toward that end, they are willing to sacrifice all of their other supposed values.

 

Actually, rational people see ALL religion as a great evil that we'd be better off without - the same way we look at ammosexuals, actually. Irrational fools think otherwise.

 

The left does not support the religion Islam. Get that through your thick skull. They support the Muslim people's right to live just like they support everyone's right to live. They do not want to ban, or remove or annihilate any group of people because of the actions of a few. Why is that so hard for you people to figure out?
