Why not mandate trigger locks and locked gun cases?

    I know right.

Just like when women get raped for wearing mini skirts.

I mean, they're just as much to blame for being provocative and inviting the rape.

    Ah. More nonsense.
How is the owner of a stolen car criminally responsible for a vehicular homicide committed with it?

I hope someone can make sense out of your comments. I sure can't.

How dare you suggest a progressive would do that.

It's more like call 911 and

That's because you don't want to.

Under my proposed new law the wearer of the mini skirt would be equally responsible as the rapist for the rape. If the person wanting to own a mini skirt doesn't think they're capable of being responsible enough for owning that mini skirt they might consider not wearing a mini skirt.

Where did I say the owner of a stolen car was responsible for a vehicular homicide?

Well clearly they weren't responsible enough to own a car.

    Of course you do :)

That's been the leftist theme for decades to blame the gun owners, even those that are diligent, law abiding and lock their guns up and never had them stolen! How is this law any different from all the insults tossed around in this forum? It's been my experience that the leftist blame the Gun Huggers/nuts/ for every mass murder just for owning one, this is just one more step to a long list of leftist absurdities :(

There's no difference between the two.
If you cannot present a sound argument as show how the owner of a stolen car can be held criminally responsible for a vehicular homicide committed with same, you cannot present a sound argument as to how the owner of a stolen firearm can be held criminally responsible for a homicide committed with same.
    Well?

If you're not capable of accepting the responsibilities of being a gun owner then you shouldn't consider owning a gun.

The contrived responsibility you speak of does not exist.

Because stupid gun owners think that mass shootings are the price we pay for freedom, and that there is absolutely nothing on earth that can or should be done to prevent them from a legal standpoint.

    Thats why.

So one of our responsibilities is not being the victim of a crime eh?

It's another duhhhhhhhh. If your gun is stolen it would perhaps be wise to notify the police. If the gun is used before the police notification they will surely investigate to see if your gun was stolen just as they would probably investigate whether or not your car was stolen before it was used in a homicide.

I can guarantee you that if my gun is stolen I'll know it and I will report it to the police. What about that seems difficult for you to understand?

Silly you, completely unaware of the fact that a legal requirement to lick u your guns violates the constitution.

Guns are stolen from parked cars because of anti gun laws that prevent lawful gun owners from carrying their firearm.

    Another Democrat failure.

How many firearms were stolen from cops last year, including the one used to kill Ms. Steinle?

That one turned out ok though, the illegal alien criminal was found innocent.

Ah is that why you want to ban something that responsible people own too? You might have some spin but you used all that up long ago with all your finger pointing and condemnation of those who own firearms their entire lives without incidence.. I doubt even you, as "On top" of it can say their home is secure from criminals, or are we allowed to bring them in to the picture?

I understand that the typical leftist will try and place blame at the source, in this case the gun owners, why, because that's been the theme all a long, hasn't it :)

Nothing here constitutes the sound argument you need to justify your proposal to make gun owners criminally responsible for a murder committed with a gun someone stile from them.
    Feet free to try again.

Having a good police department prevents those things from happening in the first place, and that's about as effective as you can get.

One thing I did forget was you should also have a properly functioning neighborhood watch. We have lots of old people where I live and we're up all hours. Any body cruising about at 2 am already has the police called on them by the time they break in to anyplace

Doesn't that pistol get uncomfortable under your pillow, and it must be a real bitch in the shower; because a gun is simply useless for self-defense if its so much as in another room when needed but it's always there for some child to find, even hidden in a locked cabinet.

Nothing here changes the fact the responsibility you assign to gun owners with respect to a murder committed with a gun someone stole from them is irrational and contrived..
