    This is worth sharing
Some great pictures and a good message for everyone

In Brazil, near Rio, people take spectacular pictures tempting
fate by hanging from this famous rock. Check out these pictures
right to the very end to discover just how dangerous it really is!

The truth is, the rock is only a few feet above the ground. All that is required is the proper perspective! Remember this lesson when you read/view material on the internet. Sometimes, the truth is a lot different than what it appears.

I did this for real in Yosemite.

    Also at the Grand Canyon.

Not exactly sure why, but it was there so I hoped the rail and went to the edge. I didn't hang off but I did sit there for a few minutes and just enjoyed it.

There's nothing so exhilarating as being on the thin edge of death.

    But I respect heights.:roflol:

Its funny how even a little breeze when you are in that position can make every part of you tense up.

I think some of them have a subconscious death wish.

No. People actually do that. Especially in Russia. Dumb people do that.

From 1958-1967 Often my job was called the Loftsman. The loftsman works on the leads. The leads hold the hammer on pile drivers. If you are on the sidewalk, it is the straight up part where the noisy hammer is. Anyway, the loftsman has to climb all day long up and down. The highest I climbed was 160 feet with my tools on me. By the time you have to do that, you are in good condition. The view can be excellent. Those guys on those extremely tall towers even if taken part way up by elevator, still end up working hard. If you get used to it, the altitude does not matter at all.

I too have been both places. What is remarkable to me is that when my youngest daughter was in high school, they had a field trip to Yosemite. She was first to the top of Half Dome on the hiking trail. Part of the way up Half Dome is on the sheer rock and you are holding onto a cable used to help climbers get to the top on the hiking side. Even today, she is in very fit condition. She surfs at Hawaii and does a lot of swimming.

Here is one of the pile drivers I worked on. This job is run by my father and i was then in high school. Later I worked on this piledriver many times.

I see my father on the opposite side of the piledriver and he is directing the job.

He is the largest man on the job.

Its not the altitude that would bother me, it would be the sudden loss of it.

    lol

I don't mind jumping out of airplane because I have two chutes for safety but I would never free climb like that.

I also know about video fails, Russians falling from their parkour on pure concrete. It's not beautiful to watch so I will not post that. But if you do want to see that, YouTube and then "Russian falls from building parkour" or something like that, play with the words a bit. You'll find a few. Thanks.

P.S. It really is painful to watch even them alive doing that.
