Well, Islam has not done a good job with its public perception. A lot can be contributed to misunderstanding and preconceived notions, but it doesn't help when Muslims fly planes into buildings, and kill cartoonists for making fun of Mohammed. Fear tends to cloud judgement.
Some of the prominent Christians have been very supportive of the middle eastern war campaign, and interested in imposing regime change, so what is your point?
Just so you know how these places function. There are a group of people (forum membership) that interact freely and debate topics with each other. This often entails asking question and answering others in order to develop discussion and gain understanding....sometimes of people as well as topics. When a member is confusing or deliberately avoids answering it becomes necessary to dig more deeply in order to continue conversation and you are very confusing in your purposeful avoidance.
Ducking again. You know how many athiests there are and how many are supposedly in the Church of Satan. You seem incapable of ever being intellectually honest but then of course why would you change now!
I posted nothing dishonest what so ever. do you seriously think people cant see that when ever you are cornered and your arguments go up in smoke you and your other neoatheists pals resort to namecalling.
If you are talking about Hitler, he didn't kill the Jews for religious reasons, his antisemitism was rooted in the belief that Jews were master manipulators trying to control the world. Now, don't get me wrong, I am totally against judging a whole group by the actions of a few, I was just pointing out how fear can make people think stupid things. Most of this is caused by the media blasting the public with images of violent Muslims (same thing happens with African-Americans). And to address a concern you had from before, the vast majority of atheists do criticize those atheists that suggest any type of violence, but most will not criticize those that advocate outlawing religions.
What?! How can that be a strawman when I've actually heard/seen atheists advocate that? And I'm sure FreedomSeeker has said something to that effect on this forum. Hell, I've thought that myself after seeing some idiot theists acting like asses (at least until I calm down again). The truth is, as much as I don't want to admit it, it does happen. Atheists are like every other human, they are subject to weakness.
Of course it is dishonest to pretend that a very few represent the views of everyone or even the majority.
I guess using your logic I can conclude that Christians want to get rid of Jews and black people after all I’ve heard and seen these neo-Nazis. I love the way you make an extremist the norm but don’t want to take your extremists which are in huge numbers as the norm
I am so sorry, I am totally failing at making myself understood. So let me try again. I do not believe that all Christians want to get rid of all black people and Jews. Yes, there some that do, but they are a small minority. I do not believe that extremists are the norm. If they were, they wouldn't be called extremists. I'm not sure who my extremists are, I assume you are talking about atheists so let's talk about them. Yes there are extremist atheists. Are their many? I guess that depends on what you consider extremism. There are no atheists i know of, that suggest killing theists. I don't dismiss that there could be some, but I've never seen them (this is not true of theists). I've seen atheists that advocate outlawing religions, but I've never met one outside this forum. Are there atheists that hate religion? Yes, I've come across many in my life, though there seems to be a higher than average on this forum. To me, extremism is where one advocates violence to achieve their ends or has an unreasonable hate toward those that don't agree with them. I am very wary of extremists, and I won't put up with the violent ones. I hope this explains what my position is. If I've missed something or I'm still not making sense, feel free to let me know.
proving you failed to read for comprehension then why do you continue? Jews? Trillions! (not millions) nice drama Only those who lack knowledge and comprehension or stubbornly refuse to admit atheists practice their own little style of religion.
I am not the poster trying to pretend that the Church of Satan somehow represents all or even a significan percentage of athiests. You know perfectly well that you have done that repeatedly and all it ever proves is your fundamental intellectual dishonesty and the bankruptcy of your arguements.
I have done no such thing, but then thats only if what I said is taken in context and read for comprehension. as the nose continues to grow.
And once more for the cheap seats in the back, YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL PEOPLE WHAT THEY BELIEVE OR WHAT RELIGION THEY ARE.
So what source are you going to pretend you have used to support your statements about athiest churches and religions and beliefs. So far you have used the Church of Satan and several other small membership athiest groups. If you need proof suggest you reread your posts 3422,3414,3362,and 3375 among others. Pretty sad you have to lie when of course your posts are there for anyone, including you to read.
