Trump shut down the federal government to pursue a policy which is opposed by a majority of Americans.

He is not working hard for the American people. He is hardly working for his base.

Obama is the primary reason that Trump was able to **** up as hard as he has without destroying the country.

Could you imagine all of Trump's **** ups in a world where the economy was not already doing great or the country was at war?

Actually he bragged how they loved it. He isn't the first elected official to use taxdollars to go to his private residence. The tax cuts and trade policies benefit all Americans. He didn't simply cut taxes for himself....or earmark a bridge to nowhere to benefit himself personallly...not like Harry Reid

Yeah, they want compromise so Trump compromised with 1/2 that amount. Dems won't compromise.

All the Senate had to do was hand him a law he could sign. The House handed one to him. Now that the Democrats are in charge on Thursday, that chance is gone it looks like to me.

Trump did not say they did not give permission. If you look for virtue, the last place to find it is strutting on some stage in a skimpy bathing suit. Were you truly believing those girls are virtuous?

Trump has no way to direct at his properties. He turned over management to others. My son is not a mega rich man and he told me he truly appreciates what Trump did for him.

Trump is so busy compromising with himself over the wall that he is now ok with a beaded curtain.

I don't believe Democrats give a flying f*ck about morality, and that impression is only reinforced by the laughingstocks who look to Harry Reid for moral guidance.

Did you intend this thread to be humorous or was that just a happy mistake on your part?

A majority oppose the wall and a majority do not want the government shut down because of the wall, so he is doing precisely the opposite of what the people want.

McCarthy says Democrats didn't seem too interested in what Sec. Nielsen had to say about the situation on the border. "They really didn't want to hear it," he tells reporters.

LOL! So, much of what passes for the "progressive" "Left" these days has finally discovered a political "clean face" they can believe in - Harry Reid. ;-)

"Reid's nickname as chairman of the [gaming] commission was "Mr. Cleanface". Ironically, the moniker came from Tony Agosto, a Kansas City mobster involved in the Chicago Outfit's operations in Vegas. Agosto, who was the entertainment director of the Tropicana Hotel and Casino, had been monitored by the FBI and had once, in a visit with the Kansas City my boss Nick Civella, bragged that "Mr. Clean Face" was on the mob payroll. Agosto's testimony led to the conviction of several mob bosses from the Midwest. And the FBI believed that "Mr. Cleanface was Reid. Agosto claimed that he channeled $10,000 a week to Reid through attorney J Brown, "an old and dear friend" as Reid described him."

harry? really? the guy that supports amorality and 'pay for sex'... his opinion is meaningless to all but the 'blind faith followers' that are so full of hatred, they'll cling to an amoral hack to further their agenda...

Do you two really fail so hard at recognizing that your only defensive strategy to Harry's comments are to attack Harry? You have absolutely zero to say in defense of Trump?

Hell, the OP makes reference to the fact that a GOP senator, Mitt Romney, ALSO just destroyed Trump's character in an op-ed today. Do you want to say anything in defense of Trump now? Or is your best option to just attack Mitt Romney as well?

Rebuilding trust between the strongest allies won't be unattainable. If you look at the graph below you can see that opinion of the US President to do the right thing improved greatly from where it was when Bush was President.

Another President like Obama will do it. And that's not a far-fetched possibility. The US President generally reflects the American people - strong on human rights, with a moral and ethical bearing. It's Trump who is the anomaly, not America.

Where the damage might be lasting is in areas like Asia where China has an opportunity to exert influence over countries like the Philippines. China is also working very hard to win friends in Africa, a place where the people will long remember Trump's 'shithole countries' insult.
