Trotting out false dichotomies is not an argument for much :)

Money is neither the root of all evil nor is it the root of all good it is not a Black vs White/Good vs Evil paradigm.

A popular current text, the King James Version shows 1 Timothy 6:10 to be: For the love of money is the root of all evil

You obviously don't understand the concept of democracy. None of the above conflicts with a democracy.

Not in your world, no. In your world 'democratic' governments practice torture, rendition and military aggression.

They do if that's the policy chosen through the democratic process. Like I said, you don't understand the concept.

As I'm British my tax dollars aren't going anywhere. So, substantiate your allegations? The US is one of the most democratic and liberal countries in the world and we should all be grateful it is the unrivalled superpower.

    1) appeal to popularity - logical fallacy
    2) "love of money" is different than saying "money is the root of all evil"
    3) Paul said a number of really dumb things - things that were clearly "not inspired". Romans 13 for example - paraphrased for brevity.

    https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans+13&version=NIV

So those under Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot, Mao - should not rebel because it was God established these authorities and will punish those who rebel. Obviously Paul is trying to make Christianity more acceptable to the Romans - perhaps a smart move at the time. This does not make this passage not idiotic gibberish from an "inspired by God" perspective.

    4) Timothy was not written by Paul :)

The article doesn't say one way or the other. Just that ex-military can keep
    theirs if they like.

Im not rationalizing anything. Words have meaning. Democracy doesn't mean no "torture, rendition and military aggression". It means no torture, rendition and military aggression unless approved of through a democratic process.

And we can all thank the Collectivists for this.

Also, educated doesn't mean someone went to school. There are a lot of people,
including teachers, who went to school but never got educated.

Educated sure does mean that you went to school. Otherwise, you are smitten with a high school mentality whether you consider
yourself to be educated on a street level or not. It is fact that some educated people can't see the forest from the trees and we see this on this site every day.

I think to a large degree this is true. That said, through 12 years of School kids in Red states are not taught about the founding principles either.

I realize you did not actually state that by "collectivists" you meant Blue vs Red- but this is generally the case. Forgive me if I have assumed wrong.

The fact of the matter is that "collectivism" - while rampant on the Blue side - is also rampant on the Red side ! The main difference is that while on the Blue side the members will often have at least some understanding (although normally very limited) of their collectivist leanings - the members on the Red side seem to have almost no awareness of their collectivist leanings.

The fact of the matter is that Red Establishment political and bureaucratic elite hate essential liberty and limitations to the power of Gov't just as much - if not more - than Blue Establishment.

The upshot is that we have two sides working the same collectivist/ Totalitarian police/nanny state agenda - just from different perspectives.

Since the average voter has no clue what the founding principles are - they have no clue that these principles are being violated - and no clue that both sides are engaged in their sodomization. They are then fooled into thinking that voting one side or the other might have a chance at ending this sodomization.

Of course this is a fools errand as if they are voting either Red or Blue - they are voting for continued sodomization.

They don't just hand out guns to people and they have a permit process.

See, your brilliant mind didn’t realize that you are posting opinion piece in News section of the forum.
So much for brilliant mind of yours.
Oh, and you didn’t even bother to read the rules of this forum abut thread titles, which kind of suggest the opposite of brilliance.

Start with one. If you can give me three, I'll be impressed.

    Still waiting.

    Still waiting.

The German and British government were tracking down people and arresting them based on "hate speech" posted on their phones to Facebook. That's not free speech, that's oppression and repression. So still waiting.

If you go serve in the military for any of those governments, you deserve to lose your citizenship. It's not freedom to be a traitor to your country, it's treason. If you take up arms against the US, you deserve to be executed. Not sure what you think is funny about that. Just from a quick check, only 12 Americans have returned from joining ISIS, and nine of those are in prison. Two are free and have not been charged and one is dead after returning to ISIS and carrying out a suicide attack. I suppose you think we should be like the Swedes or the Brits and try to "integrate" them back into society.

Also, what year are you living in? Rhodesia hasn't existed since 1979. The country is now called Zimbabwe, and as far as I know, we have no limits on travelling there. Limits on travel to Vietnam were lifted years ago.
