The problem with our so called experts is that they are so tied into certain ideas, and have formulated so many concepts around those ideas, that they can't accept anything else. What if there were no mountains before Noah, and the earth had a different atmosphere and then a cataclysmal event happened and the waters did pour out of the earth? I mean how can Noah be given the exact measurements of an ark, if there was no need for such a thing to be built in the first place..Isn't it odd? Anyway I believe the earth expands, and maybe it isn't a slow process and it does come suddenly and in leaps and bounds. Could the flood have been such an event? I don't know, I'm just speculating.
We know, from numerous scientific fields such as biology and geology, that a global flood has never occurred in the entire history of the earth.
You should read the fairy tale for once. The Garden of Eden was just down the road from Assyria, Ethiopia, Persia, Arabia, and of course, Egypt. Those places were there after Noah's flood. They didn't even get damp. The Noah flood is basically a war story. It uses the words of a flood to describe how complete the destruction was. It is also a First Commandment story, Exodus 34:11-16. It teaches complete obedience and total loyalty. When the Boss tells you to do something, you hop to it even if you don't have a clue as to how to do it. Compare the Noah story to the Saul story. Samuel told Saul to go kill all of the Amalekites and their animals. Saul wimped out and showed a little mercy. That ticked off Samuel and the God character to no end. Samuel got super mad and hacked king Agag to pieces.
I believe the flood happened but I believe it was a regional flood as that corresponds to the Gilgamesh account , and remember to the inhabitants of that region that was their whole world . But remember that Christianity rises and falls on one event the resurrection which I believe thete is good historical evidence and arguments for , this is part of what took me away from atheism and back into Christianity
Funny most ancient cultures have a tradition of one, with many commonalities. Funny how in the Rio Grande Valley where I live, there is 1,500' of water-deposited sediment in an area that gets 9' of rain a year.
Pollen was unknown, yet there is pollen on it that only blooms in the spring in the Jerusalem area, when the crucifixion was held to happen.
Paul's teachings after his conversion were the same as what Jesus taught, Mohammad or Joseph Smith aren't even similar. There is forgiveness and salvation even for those who murdered Christians like Paul, or you, and me.
The atheist obsession with Jesus can be explained by Jesus' saying, "I will draw all men unto myself". Otherwise it makes no sense. My wife doesn't like football, but she doesn't make thousands of posts on NFL forums telling people how stupid it is.
Where did you get lost? We know that there has never been a global flood at any time in the history of the planet earth.
Very eloquent way to make a point I have attempted to make many times over! Kudos Brother! The present books of the Bible are simply the ones for which there was no contention as to their I, personally , like reading from the Book of Enoch .
Why? It wasn’t an opinion. There hasn’t never been a global flood on planet earth. We know this because.........science.
And eliminated pieces while including others...that was my point. Were these men God directed en mass to create the newer Biblical content, or did they just debate and decide what to do? If so, the Bible is no longer "The Word of God", it becomes the words of men.
I'm sure you believe that, not everyone does. Would be interested in your opinion of these six points: https://answersingenesis.org/the-flood/global/worldwide-flood-evidence/ There has never been an age when 'science' has been completely settled and unchanging. Why do you think the present consensus is any different? If that is so, shouldn't science be open to other theories?
They were guided by the Holy Spirit. See https://www.josh.org/who-decided-what-in-bible/ "Some mistakenly think the Roman emperor Constantine simply made the decision of what to include when he commissioned 50 copies of the Bible for churches in his capitol city, Constantinople. But Constantine played no role in the Bible’s formation, despite what Dan Brown asserts as historical “fact” in his novel, The DaVinci Code. By the end of the fourth century the canon was definitively settled and accepted — but not as part of the Council of Nicea, as some wrongly believe. The Council of Carthage established the orthodox New Testament canon in 397 AD; it was upheld at the Council of Trent in 1545. By the way, Protestants and Catholics are in agreement with their use of the same New Testament."
It’s been a few years ago now, but; Alma, then my girlfriend, got angry with me and left her house (were we where) and went to my place, an old adobe house built in the 1880’s. No more than an hour later she returned looking rather pale. I asked her.. “did you see the shadow?” I’d dismissed the shadow as ‘”night terrors”, those waking dreams that one sometimes has wherein you think you are awake but are actually in a very vivid dream state, and can not move, which is why it’s also called “sleep or dream paralysis”. We told no one, because most people would just dismiss it. My step-daughter, unprompted, mentioned she’d seen “something” in there (she IS sensitive to observing phenomena from the “other side”, the most impressive being hearing a little girls’s laugh while sitting in her apartment and turning to see a full body apparition. We asked our Lord and Savior to remove the “thing” from that house. Some time had passed before renters from another house on the same estate approached us and starting babbling about “something”, I let them carry on for a few minutes more before asking them “Did you see the shadow” . They effusively replied in the affirmative and told their story. She had seen it first and told her husband , who, guess what, dismissed it. However they were sitting together when they both saw it at the same time! They alos asked our Lord and Savior to remove it. Haven’t seen it since, it could be lurking in another part of the estate, but has not infested a house since. I’ve seen photographic evidence second hand from the first hand witnesses, people who just aren’t sophisticated enough to do a high quality fake. So I have to believe having seen the irrefutable evidence before my very eyes that has been collaborated, unprompted, from at least four other people.
