Roe v Wade is fundamentally flawed in that it does not recognize an infants right to life after it has become a living person. The government has a legal obligation to protect the life of all persons, born or unborn. The fundamental question that remains is at what point does an embryo become a person. This question is already somewhat decided in law in that the murder of a pregnant woman in late pregnancy is considered 2 counts of homicide. Most everyone agrees that late term abortions are basically murder, yet we still have not decided at what stage in the pregnancy that is true. The right to abortion ends where the right to an unborn infants life begins.
. It didn't have to...once BORN it is a legal person. Anti-Choicers do not recognize that women have a right to life. At BIRTH. The UVVA(Unborn Victims of Violence Act ) does NOT say that a fetus is a legal person. No, that is blatantly false. "Most everyone" do not agree. Late term abortions may be performed legally if the life/health of women or fetus is in jeopardy... WHAT is "true"? Any rights the fetus may have (none) end when they infringe on the woman's rights.
I would overturn it just for its terrible logic and flawed legal reasoning, rather than its outcome. How many have actually read the written opinion and given it more than a passing thought? Even Norma Mccorvey herself ("Roe", the defendant in the case) later regretted the ruling in the case. I don't believe that wanting to "overturn" the case necessarily means you are against abortion altogether.
What she, one person, thought is totally irrelevant. Yes, it does or otherwise why bother overturning it? It protects women's right to their own bodies and WOW do some people hate that!!!
The Supreme Court effectively ruled on an issue that entirely hinges on one case. I think it is at least a little bit relevant.
The UNCHERRY PICKED POST: What she, one person, thought is totally irrelevant. Yes, it does or otherwise why bother overturning it? It protects women's right to their own bodies and WOW do some people hate that!!! No, it didn't....and whether it did or not HER FEELINGS, before, during, or after, have NOTHING to do with the ruling.
Fetus's ARE babies, babies don't have to be born to be babies. Taking Care of You and Your Baby While You’re Pregnant https://familydoctor.org/taking-care-of-you-and-your-baby-while-youre-pregnant/ When should you seek care for your unborn baby? https://news.sanfordhealth.org/womens/seek-care-unborn-baby/
They triggered it with their attempts to expand abortion even approving killing the baby after it's born. And not just in Alabama.
Even in this Forum the majority want to keep abortion legal... So the hilarious screaming of , "It's a baby" I say, sperm and eggs and everything else from that point on is a BAAAAAAAABY, everything is a BAAAAAABY ..""" for some reason just didn't work..
That's exactly what happened this is all to get a case up to the SCOTUS in response to the left wanting to eliminate any and all restrictions on abortion. Get up to speed.
You need to get up to speed, dude. Most left leaning states have restrictions on abortions after 20 - 24 weeks. There is no grand movement to over-turn these restrictions. You got your panties in a wad because YOU chose to twist the remarks of ONE politician. So stop pretending one equals all and chill.
And the pro-abortion side decided to get rid of even those with their latest and that is why other states, not just Alabama, quickly passed laws that are sure to take it to the SCOTUS, sorry you missed that.
Name all these states that are allowing killing of babies after they are born. Do you realize how ridiculous your statement is. But maybe you'll come up with that list.
New York has started the movement with Virginia trying to follow and now the left wants to require the federal government to pay for it.
I understand your position & your thinking. But as a society, we have to acknowledge & honor the rights of the mother too. Most of the new state anti-abortion laws passed recently don't. Why don't the Pro-Life people come up with a law that recognizes & responds to the rights of everyone concerned in a pregnancy for a change? As a Pro-Choice supporter, I would be happy with finding a compromise with you on the subject & the law. But I'm not going to settle for any law that disregards the rights of the mother entirely like you guys are doing now. Show us you're serious. Show us where you would compromise.
Ask away, they will NEVER show the wording in the law that says it's OK to kill babies...BECAUSE IT ISN'T THERE...
That can not be done--not now--not ever. Once born, it is an infant, with all the Constitutional rights we any have, & killing it would not only be inconceivable, but would also be murder. That's not changing.
Of course, now if we could only convince those who scream about laws allowing women to kill babies....ya know, those people who have NEVER proven that's true
They've been brainwashed by Pro-Life extremists. But, I don't know how to reach them. They aren't really open to the truth. How do you get them to understand they're fighting a lie?
