I’m surprised with the imminent debates there haven’t been numerous threads on the subject. Where’s the excitement and anticipation? Maybe tomorrow...
There isn't anything to debate that our leftists are interested in debating. So far most of them have declared that neither they nor their leftist politicians are for open borders while simultaneously doing absolutely everything possible to promote open borders, and then calling Right of Center posters pointing that out . . . bigots.
Yup that's the general leftist flow chart.. I thought that was classified, do you have someone on the inside
Trump summed it up perfectly in his tweet: "BORING!" PS seriously, in the era of Trump, having to listen to their platitudes, clichés, slogans, political double-talk and generalizations - BORING. PS2 the DNC TDS idiots excluded all the networks other than MSNBC and Telemundo from broadcasting the debates, what a way to shoot themselves in the foot
Really, there isn't anything they can debate. It would be falling on deaf ears because I don't think democrats are particularly receptive to logical argumentation. What really interests me is who Maddow is going to softball, because that will tell me who the dems are gonna nominate come hell or high water. Biden is the obvious choice, except for being old and white and with almost as much baggage as Hillary. I'm still gonna go with Harris. She ticks all the black and female boxes, and has the ability to stand toe-to-toe with Trump. Not positive by a long shot, but it's gotta be a woman. Maybe Warren?
I think Warren has already been given the nod since the DNC has been both grooming her and courting her for a presidential run for a significant length of time now. I figure they have political experts conferring with her behind the scenes telling her to say this but not that; to break free of the clown car pack. All Biden ever was for the DNC and the MSM was a political stalking horse. "Okay Warren you can adopt this and this from Biden's plank, but stay the hell away from that and the other as they are creaming senile old Uncle Joe in polling."
Every election the dem candidates keep telling us they will tax the rich and help the little guy. They are against giant corporations and want to help the workers. But once elected they have no program or idea to help those they view as the unwashed. Their door is always open to the lobbyists with the cash which will help them be re-elected and stay in power so they retire as millionaires with their full salaries. It's like a movie that I keep watching over and over. Trump is right, it was "boring".
Personally, I can't get really excited because no matter who gets the nomination, it will be an extreme uphill battle to beat Trump. We could as well face the second election in a row, in which the popular vote majority candidate loses, because the electoral college stacks the odds against the Democrats. But, even without this issue, people have the illusion of a good economy, as it is shouted from the rooftops of the media. They are not going to rock the boat. In a sense, I WANT Trump to get a second term, because the next recession is very likely to hit after 2020, but before 2024. Wouldn't it be nice if the GOP FOR ONCE actually had to clean up their own economic mess instead of leaving it to the Dems?
Why not nominate someone who could do well in the electoral college? I’m not basing this theory on your post exclusively but it got me thinking. Is the apathy about these debates because deep down we know the party is picking the nominee and the rest is theatre? Was all the hype about Beto etc. early on just media and the voters don’t really care? Probably shouldn’t give advice, but from an independent perspective, if the DNC wants to pull in new votes, there better be something more to offer than beating Trump. I for one care about policy, not the EC or just getting rid of Trump.
The Dems always promise to soak the rich then never do because they are the party of the rich, even more than the GOP as of late. The Kock bros are going to start supporting some Dem candidates.
Exactly. Reagan cleaned up the Carter economy and handed it to Clinton. Then "W" came in and cleaned up Clinton's recession. Trump came in and jump-started Obama's 8-year dead battery economy. The dems raise taxes and to hell with the economy. The repubs cut taxes and the economy starts running.
LOL, I guess 2008 wasn't the GOP's mess? I have certainly seen lots of selective memory from the Trump fan side that wants to put the 2008 recession on the Dems shoulders. None of their rationalizations hold up to scrutiny. And, if you want to go back to Reagan: Volcker was arguably the one who broke inflation by interest rate policy. He was a CARTER nominee. Not sure why Carter never gets credit for this. Reagan, however, was clearly the one who started the current GOP "tax less, spend more" policies, basically buying short term economic growth through long term public debt (the national credit card). That's not skill, that's just reckless economic policy of buying votes.
You're right about Warren, she came out of nowhere, an outsider, (native Oklahoman) yet she beat a popular Massachusetts Republican in a very questionable election. Massachusetts is a one party state (Dem/Communist) and the undisputed most corrupt state in the history of America. I think there's no question about why she was elected and what she's been groomed for but I also think she's just one out of some number in the bullpen. I think the only person that truly makes the Dems damp in their panties is Michelle Obama and she's going to be the golden one. It's too early to spring that on America especially with the outcome of the Mueller report which I think the Dems counted on to augment their plans. Obama is a Dems dream come true, she's black, a woman and most importantly an Obama. Let's not forget that they successfully ran that scam twice and won both times. I think the Dems believe they're dealing with the same dumbass electorate that gave them eight years of America's biggest disaster. If anything eight years of that BS created better, smarter voters. The other thing the Dems are up against is nothing to run on, Trumps successes keep piling up and they keep chanting impeachment all the while doing very little legislating. Michelle Obama is their magic secret weapon, for some voters the Obama brand is still something shiny enough to be fooled again and the Dems pray there's enough of them. The only thing left to do is somehow get the goods on Trump. I'm not counting Warren out she's like that ugly woman at the end of the bar and it's closing time but America's sobered up quite a bit.
I think my favorite byte from last night was de Blasio saying the 1% are responsible for American’s pain and challenges. Who’s dumber, him for saying it or people who cheer it? He’s saying he’s responsible!
Biden, Sanders, Buttigieg, the first debate was to give single digit contenders a good feeling. Tonight will be different.
Tulsi Gabard would be the best out of the dem pack. Not that I agree with most of her positions, but at least she's got credentials and big brass balls. If the dems were smart they'd cut the pack right now to Gabbard, Warren, Castro, and Biden, which pretty much runs their ideological gamut.
