Moscow (CNN)Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his annual news conference Thursday that US President Donald Trump's impeachment was based on "made-up reasons," and expressed doubts that Trump will be removed from power.

"Regarding the continuation of our dialogue till the end of Trump's presidency, you make it sound as if it's already coming to an end," Putin said answering a question about whether Russia has a strategy for continuing the dialogue with the US until the end of Trump's presidency.

"I actually really doubt that it is ending, it still has to go through Senate where as far as I know the Republicans hold the majority so it's unlikely they will want to remove the representative of their party for some made-up reasons."​

He keeps his American asset close, keeps him very amenable to himself. Putin, like Little Rocket Man, is getting everything he can out of Trump, and that means buttering Trump up like a biscuit. Trump is incredibly easy to manipulate thanks to his massive narcissism and crippling Dunning-Kruger.

So, you're saying Putin is vocally in favor of combating global warming. This alone isn't going to anger Trump and harm his efforts to butter up and manipulate the guy, you know. Trump probably doesn't even have strong personal feelings about global warming, but makes noise about that to please his base.

 

That wasn't why he won, no. He won because Hillary was successfully portrayed with Russian assistance as being corrupt, and because Trump was regularly boosted with Russian assistance also. That game has ultimately changed very little for Putin since Trump got into office. It was and remains Trump + Putin versus the Democrats.

I'm not misusing it in the least. Trump really believes he is more intelligent and knowledgeable than he really is. E.g. when he claimed he was smarter than our generals, or when he said "I know more about drones than anybody. I know about every form of safety that you can have."

I think the fact that you can't understand hyperbole, banter, and the fact that you couldn't describe the term without looking up sacrifices any modicum of intellectual superiority you might have obtained previously.

You're once again downplaying what the Russians have been doing. It is far more than just Facebook ads. But as we've seen, part of their disinformation is to deny and minimize their efforts, once again putting them right on the same page as Trump. Not so much the rest of the Republicans in this regard, though, because even they acknowledge Russian interference when pressed. Their problem is that they largely remain silent and refuse to challenge Trump when he calls it a "hoax" along with his Russian allies.

 

So...Russia made you vote for Trump. Interesting.
