Well, you definitely failed on exponential growth....and trying to represent the square of a “ real” value being either positive or negative was a head scratcher.

if you are a trump voter, you are probably a member of a cult that is totally misinformed. brainwashed is the correct term, endless repetition of garbage propaganda never retracted... It is the story of the last 30 years in American politics, a greedy idiot give away to the rich GOP that totally misinforms its voters.last 30 years we have had a flat tax system if you count all taxes that is ruining the middle class and our infrastructure. No sacrifice is too great to save the rich from paying their fair share.

I can agree with that; just one note- I would say protective against predatory practices; so it applies all around.

    Yup...
Trump didn’t suddenly appear out of no where. He’s a groomed lackey of the gop and Putin, both of whom have similar goal.

Ethical can't be one-sided. You may chose to turn a blind eye- but the people who are targets of the"shafting" are usually businesses. There are dishonest people everywhere- including governments, employees, unions, and with incredible levels of saturation- in law. Ever hear of a company suing employees? No. Ever hear of it the other way around? Lawyers promote shafting people where there is money and preferably a lot of insurance involved. If you used some product then developed a bad case of hiccups, somebody owes you compensation for your suffering- and that will be a company.

The best way to run a business IS honestly and with strong customer service. It is far more likely to succeed than with scams to rip people off- because people, including employees are not required to follow any ethical guidelines at all. You have to compete for good employees and for a good reputation with customers. You need to get into business for yourself and see how easy it is.

Ridiculous comparison. Of course companies don’t sue employees as a matter of tradition.....they fire them.

It’s hard to understand the right. They say they are for the working person, but diss collective bargaining. How does that work ?

There are some dishonest people everywhere. But spend some time in the service and in government, not elected positions. Compared to the private sector, the difference in honesty is dramatic. You can lose your job lying to your boss in the private sector, while you can lose your retirement and entire career in public service. Sorry, I would trust a dedicated unelected public servant over a clown like Trump or any other fraud in the private sector motivated by greed. The good private sector corporations are often those top heavy with integrity and / or prior public service. They often don’t have unions in their employees ......because they aren’t needed. You don’t find many successful businesses that don’t treat their customers and their workers with respect.

I doubt that any business that follows ethical practices needs to worry much about confirming to govt regulation....neither do they need to worry about their workers or their customers.

That is of course a huge stretch.

If you take a course in anything- are you guaranteed success? Hell no. Because showing someone how something can be done is hardly the same as them being able to apply it. The idea is like- if I buy a surgeons scrubs (the green outfit) does it make me a surgeon?? Some think it works that way. It doesn't.

I taught classes to show people how to make dramatic changes in their lives. Personal, not financial, although the first does boost the second. No question what I taught was true- I've done it, psychologists came to my classes to learn how I did it. But, I quit teaching it after 3 years, because it was virtually impossible to get people to actually follow the simple process. I did most of this free, just trying to help others. I charged for business seminars, that payed the bills. It wasn't complicated, but it required they change some fundamental things they had believed all their lives- and few people are willing to do that. They want the success formula to fit into what they already think and do- which is precisely why they are stuck where they are.

If it were easy to be a successful investor, every body would be a successful investor. It takes more than learning how it's done- you actually have to go and do it, and do it well. Most people who buy things like the real-estate investment plans expect the plan to do the work. They are looking for a fool-proof get rich quick scheme, and when the find out it takes wise decisions and self-discipline they can't provide- they say the program failed. I do think Trump should have known most people would not be able to apply the knowledge provided by the course, and should not have allowed his name to be used in the first place. If I understand it correctly- The lawsuits centered around allegations that Trump University defrauded its students by using misleading marketing practices and engaging in aggressive sales tactics. At least part of this was related to "Trump Institute" which was not owned by the Trump organization, but had licensed the name. Trump certainly did not need this, it wasn't subjected to the kind of scrutiny it should have been- and that was his mistake. Still- IF the course provided the formula, and I have no doubt it did, because it's not secret- you can blame those who buy in for expecting that the knowledge alone would make them rich. That is their mistake. That's a lot different than selling something that had no value in the first place.

I invest in the market, dabble in real estate once in a while. My last real estate buy was a nice home bought in a foreclosure for 100K, rented, sold two years later for $150K, nothing spent but a clean up. Before that, I bought a 3/4 acre south Florida waterfront property, really nice; dock space, 70 palm trees. Also a repo. Sold it for triple the invested amount 13 months later, with no improvements except mowing the grass. I've never lost on a real estate investment. Did break even once, but never lost. And I'm self-taught, just read a few books by top people in the field.

I have no problem saying this whole venture was a big mistake, and Trump should have been far more diligent in controlling it. The man does not need to cheat people to succeed; but that doesn't mean those actually running the operation and no doubt making big commissions would not deceive the buyers.

Let's make the rules equal.- collective bargaining for all. If you refuse to patronize the grocery store that is considered to be the one in your neighborhood, then other stores (which are all part of the grocers union) will not let you in. Probably put pickets in front of your house too, so the UPS and mail-man will refuse to deliver to you.

If you refuse to pay the prices they charge, then they will gang up with all the other business unions of all kinds, and prevent you from doing business with anyone. If you are stubborn, then you will probably be driven to bankruptcy if you don't give in. That's equality- we all live by the same rules.

Being as you think collective bargaining is fair, I'm sure you will agree; have no problem giving equal rights to employers too.

Trump has never been diligent about doing anything ethical . If it happens, it’s by mistake. He’s a con artist. He will say anything, anytime to anyone to maximize his personal gain. That’s not what public service is about, nor is it a model for public servants.
Trump U was fraud from the get go. Salesmen were INSTRUCTED in how to deceive prospective students. Trump, along with his fraudulent charity which was just a front for another scam, is a habitual offender. The only thing that keeps him out if jail, is his ability to pay off fines and restitution.

That doesn’t work with the rest of us. We go to jail.
Now, he’s got Barr running around doing personal DOJ errands and advancing agendas for his convicted criminal lackies.

Thats exactly how the justice system is conducted in Russia.
Trump runs his businesses like Putin runs his. He’s a chip off the old block.

Obviously you have never had much to do with government or business. Government does not care if you are ethical, they care if you are violating some rule- harm or not. There are usually two primary motivations- keep the power, get the money. An auditor once told me for example that "Nothing we say is binding on us". Therefore the letter I had from a regional director regarding a tax application was worthless because he saw it differently. Advised me that if I wanted something binding on them it had to be on the letterhead of the legal department. Such integrity is indeed impressive. Cost me about $2k to learn that.

A chain grocery store will net about a 1% profit. That's right- one penny on the dollar. Built into the pricing is the allowance for- theft. This is shoplifting, not only by customers, but also by employees. While this varies with the neighborhood the store is located in, it usually runs between 2 and 3%. The theft- is triple the profit. IF they didn't worry about that and constantly try to control it, they would be broke in no time at all.

Employees, and probably including you- often fail to put out a days work equivalent to the pay. Perhaps they aren't feeling well or are dealing with personal issues and perform poorly- thus the employers gets short-changed. But if they were there, they get paid regardless. However, the paycheck does not reflect that shortfall- the employer has to absorb it.

See how fair that is? Ready to go in for yourself now?

Maybe a stint in the service would help doubters prospective. Some of us have been successful private contractors for decades.

We work in partnership with gov. regulations. Some of us have served on regulatory boards where the gov. uses the input of business reps themselves to develop and help institute regulations. Everyone, especially the public is helped by ethical practices and pollution control.

Left to their own devices, many businesses take the easiest and most profitable way out. it only takes a few to cause a medical, environmentally or economically calamity.

Deal with it. Regulations don’t pop up out of thin air, it’s the Trump's of the world that make them necessary. You want to blame some one, blame the crooked scam artist that makes these govt. regs necessary.

It’s like blaming the cop for picking up and enforcing speed limit violations.

He doesn’t own 600 businesses. He licenses his name in half and owns interests in many others.

They guy can’t fund a start up with the US financing ease he used to. He’s had too many failures. His primary funding now is from foriegn sources, .

    He’s a Russian asset

I taught everyday folks how to do business startups. In addition to showing them how to get from an idea to creating a business, I emphasized the personal characteristics of successful business owners.

I'm not a Trump voter in the past, but considering things like this ^^^^ that come from the other side, it might have to be an option since the Democrats can't seem to find a decent, sane candidate to offer up.

The fact your post goes all over the place, with lack of direction and basically a burp of everything you deem wrong with the country, means you are letting your emotions take over and not applying any logic or common sense.

Read the links I provide. Have someone explain their content to you. The Great Recession was caused by Democrats. Regulation was attempted numerous times. It was always opposed by Democrats. I’ve provided all the facts. They are indisputable

Early this morning when I wrote this post....
....I was up taking care of an orphaned lamb that we have been having to feed with an esophageal feeding tube because it had become so weak from an injury it had lost it’s sucking reflexes. Thankfully at 3:15 am this morning it’s sucking reflexes were back and it ate well. When it was done eating it tried to follow me as I left, exhibiting another innate behavior that helps them survive. When you see these behaviors and reflexes re-emerge with upgraded health status in a baby animal it’s cute and rewarding.

As I was going back to bed it struck me how analogous the lamb behavior is to progressive behavior. Progressive innate desire to submit to authority in thought and action is so strong, they prefer domination by political rivals to personal responsibility and negative consequences for bad actors. They prefer to follow those who provide a sense of security and will swallow anything they are fed. When these behaviors are seen in adult humans it isn’t cute as in the case of newborn animals. It’s disturbing.

Negative correlations have negative values. I provided a link to educate those who lack education. Also there was a gross error in what the value meant by the other member. I pointed that out and backed it up as well. You keep striking out. It’s funny.

Quote where I failed on exponential growth. Put up or shut up.

Mindless political meddling with suffocating, bureaucratic business regulations, often slyly tilting the table toward cronies and donors, is a business killer.
