It also seems that they want to rob people of any hope and instead focus their attention on the worst-case scenario. But this goes along with what I've noticed in the last few elections: Dems paint the world as a scary, gloomy place and Republicans present a much more optimistic view. You see this in spades with the current virus crisis.

But we don't have time for a six-month trial. This drug has been used for decades, the risk factors are known (and can be controlled for the most part), and the danger of withholding it from deathly ill patients is greater than providing it.

If someone was deathly ill, I would follow the advice of the treating physicians. If they recommended to use it, I would go along with that. If they didn't, I would go along with that.

By the way, there is no indication that it saved anyone's life. The study was on people with mild (or no) symptoms. The only effect it might possibly have had was to clear the virus out of their systems earlier. These people would almost certainly have recovered anyway.

There is no evidence at all that it will help a deathly ill patient. None. Read the report. It was not given to deathly ill patients. It might have eased some symptoms that were mild anyway.

You might as well say the same thing about Viagra or aspirin. They have been around for years, the risk factors are known.

    I stopped reading after ”overdose”

Most drugs do bad things when you do that.

Exactly, they want the masses to count as government as their savior. The more dependent sheeple the better.

The recovered FL coronavirus patient cured by this drug would disagree with you.

Saved his life? The mortality rate is about 1% in USA, so this story is - "man gets Covid-19 and recovers". Like 99% of others.

One anecdotal case. He was also given Benadryl, so it is equally accurate to say that the Benadryl cured him. As I have said - it is worth investigating, but far to early to conclude that it is effective, let alone a game changer.

If poisening a few people were really a big deal, 99% of the vaccines that public schools require students to have taken would instead be illegal.

Also, Im guessing these folks were self medicating? As a sometime self medicator myself, it comes with risks. Like hurting yourself due to ignorance.

There is a known issue with that drug if you take too much, it’s deadly. It’s not a new drug, been used extensively and it’s safe from all accounts.

Investigate it by trying it. Cut the clinical trials and try it. The FDA needs to relax and let volunteers take it if they want it. Don’t think we will see a shortage of those.

And people need to stop associating it with Trump, rather it works or not.

Read the story, he was on his deathbed, unlike 99% of others.

If I told you what I really thought about you I would get banned. You call it Trump’s wonder drug. When did the president obtain his degree in pharmaceuticals? You are aware that there are many life saving drugs available when ingested improperly will kill? You are the epitome of an instigator.

What kind of study would you desire in 4 months during a crisis?

    Anti-inflammatory properties from immunomodulation.
Hydroxychloroquine or Plaquenil is used by millions for treatment of arthritis and lupus

Or those TV ads where cars drive off cliffs and they have to put “don’t try this at home” on the bottom of the screen.

His physicians would agree he was next to death. You hate good news don't you?

It will be a game changer if it works.

A study that actually shows that it has an effect, and if so, what effect it has. Who came up with 4 months?

So far the only "effect" is that it possibly clears mild cases more quickly. Big deal.
There is nothing in the reports I’ve read where any doctor said he was close to death.

The report also said he was given Benadryl and other drugs.

Benadryl will be a game changer if it works.
