It's about your expected behavior as an upstanding law abiding citizen, staying quiet, waiting patiently for the process play out, and accepting the ruling of appropriate legal authorities which will unlike you be unbiased and be presented with the opportunity to inspect and evaluate the evidence of fraud or lack of thereof. And by the way I also regret the crowds in the streets today celebrating Biden's victory. Sure, it's something to be celebrated and it is practically impossible to avoid going out there... but it was imprudent. Guaranteed that in 2 weeks from today we'll see another spike in cases. By the way, so much for social distancing in South Bend today when the Irish beat the Tigers. The kids stormed the field. One of the biggest crowds I've seen in sports since the pandemic restrictions started. It's also guaranteed that there will be an outbreak of Covid-19 in the Notre Dame campus in two weeks.

 

Yes I have indeed, that's a part of your "stay quiet", "let the process play itself out" drill that you should have memorized by now. It's going well for you so far, all lawsuits have been dismissed. But it's Trump's legal right and in fact responsibility to 70 million of his supporters to explore all legal avenues, just like it was Gore's, just like it was Stacey Abrams' rights. If he has no evidence, it will be over soon, if he has evidence of some minor improprieties, it won't overturn the result.... if he comes up with the evidence of a massive fraud, all bets are off.

You as an upstanding law-abiding citizen want to make sure that if there was fraud it must be exposed and punished and if there was no fraud, Biden's presidency should be at least partially legitimized, for the sake of the unity of course. Do you not? Are you against Biden's legitimacy? or unity?

 

I have no problem with recounts, and if there were any impropriety I hope they nail the perpetrators to the wall.

That said, I don’t think any investigations will change the minds of the Trump faithful. They will always find a way to call this a stolen election.

 

I had grudging respect for the republican party. They were as loyal, patriotic and decent as they were wrong-headed. Good people with outdated and unrealistic ideas. I lost all respect, and so have millions of others. Its sad, really sad what they have done to their reputation, their credibility and its going to last for an entire generation.

 

I do imagine the possibility of a perfect crime, this is certainly not out of the realm of possibility (the dispatching of Jeffrey Epstein leaps immediately to mind), given the stakes and the sophistication of parties involved.

That said, perfect crimes are perfect because they are unprovable. I can't speak for others but if Trump fails to produce the evidence of wide-spread election fraud and his cases are all dismissed, I will certainly accept the validity of the vote count.
