Because that would be utter chaos! And the abuse of such an unwieldy system would be rife, because it would be close to impossible to police. Why on earth would you put the entire nation in such jeopardy, for such a tiny problem? It's a ludicrous idea.

And yet millions of 'poor' and 'minorities' can and do obtain the specific ID. Some at great personal effort and time.

Heck, getting the right ID could be a challenge for a wealthy white person - if they lived remotely, or lost all their documents, etc etc. Why you think it's related to ethnicity is disturbing, and why you think poverty plays a part is just misguided.

Ask someone who buys into this racist BS why they think black and brown people can't figure out how to use computers, or don't know where the DMV is. Go ahead, please.

    Is this a joke?

You're talking about people who deliberatly and wilfully stripped THEMSELVES of their franchise. They gave the middle finger to polite society, and said "I ain't playing by no rules". They don't get to have their cake and eat it. The only reason polite society (and elections, and democracy etc etc) exist in the first place is because the majority plays by the rules.

Utterly ridiculous. Genuine statelessness is EXTREMELY RARE in the First World. Ergo, the vast majority of non-Americans are citizens of other nations .... in which case WTF do they have to do with this American issue? Do you feel you have some kind of right to vote in Japan's elections, as an American? How about Italy's?

Show me the specific laws which prevent people from obtaining ID.

Jesus H Christos, this is so incredibly offensive. You might as well just say that brown people are lazy and/or stupid!

Your careful ommission of any sort of explanation, reveals what you really think. I'll bet you would even claim that people like my migrant relatives (who went through hell, and still frequently go through hell to keep good ID's) are some sort of unusual exception. You seem to want or need to believe that brown people are clueless and inept.

Think about what you're doing here, just to support the fragile and very shitty narrative you've chosen to buy into. You're throwing poor and working class brown people under the bus, to support a construct of white elites.

Because we have a compulsory vote. That changes the dynamic dramatically.

EXCUSE ME! I'm the one saying the opposite, remember. I'm the one with minority relatives who've struggled to get ID but who did it anyway, no matter how much effort and time it took - because they're NOT stupid or lazy. I'm the one saying millions of black and brown and poor people manage to get ID.

It's you guys who keep claiming that computers are too difficult for certain people, or the DMV is hard to find, etc etc etc.

Yeah okay there lol. Have you ever heard of anti homeless architecture?

And I guess you don’t want to talk about the idea of the submerged state.

I actually already posted a study in this thread where I got my claim from but nice faux outrage.

You;re right - the constitution says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.
How does your "poll tax" -not- qualify as an infringement?

Because we don't want people voting more than once, dead people voting, and non-citizens voting. If that requires a little discomfort so be it.

What in hellfire does that have to do with anything? Are you seriously this desperate to keep the narrative afloat?

So you DO think black and brown people can obtain a photo ID? I'm glad to hear you came around to your senses. I too believe they are perfectly capable as well.

Yes, you are. You are saying that certain people can't work the system. Since far more people CAN work the system, we know the system works. Since the system works, you're left with explaining it away just as the people in that vid explained it away. Reasons given were things like "black people don't know how to use computers" and "black people don't know where the DMV is", etc.

Because that's the perfect example of the state disenfranchising people, then because they can't vote they pass laws against them.

It does in the sense that all races and ethnicities can obtain a photo ID. That system does work for everyone.

On the contrary, I remember being subjected to this song on a regular basis in the 80's. Let's just say it's not my cup of tea. I was on a different musical journey. The Cure, The Smiths, The Ramones, The Selector, Bad Manners, The Beat, The Specials, Talking Heads, Kraftwerk, New Order, etc.

That's like saying the State is disenfranchising people by making crime illegal.

You're an intelligent and educated person. How can you possibly be thinking this stuff?

    1) And dismantling the entire system for that very small sector, puts an undue burden on the entire nation. Life isn't 'fair' - adapt or perish.

    2) Maybe it was when illegal aliens started to become a massive problem for America.
