Rep Burgess Owens (R-UT) confronted a critic who accused him of "bias" because he opposed two gun-control bills while approving of requiring voters to show an I.D. in order to vote. Owens fired back, "You know what's racist? Assuming because I'm black that 'I just don't have the capability of getting an I-D.' Disclaimer: We are all capable of getting an I-D (and even using the internet!)"

Universal background checks affect everyone. It is trivial to write it so it isn't a racial thing.

Owens added, "I used my I.D. to drive a car, to get a job, to board a plane, pick up prescriptions, and virtually everything else in life...So tell me again, why is showing an I.D. 'Voter Suppression'?"

    https://www.dailywire.com/news/burg...mail&utm_content=031421-news&utm_campaign=pos

Clear as day how leftists in America use minorities in general as just another vehicle to push their victimhood 'Voter Suppression' agenda forward so as to allow more voter fraud to take place before, during and even after our election day.

I don't know, why don't 25% of African Americans don't have access to Photo ID?
    https://www.politifact.com/factchec...older-says-recent-studies-show-25-percent-af/

Or how about this as an explanation why 3 million Americans don't have access to Photo ID:
"I talked with Rethel Frank(ph). She's 84 years old. She lives in Brokaw, Wisconsin, and she has an interesting story because she typifies what many seniors are experiencing. Many of them never had birth certificates to begin with, and if they did, they were incorrectly - their names were incorrectly put onto these documents. And if that's the case, then you're not going to get an ID. They will not accept discrepancies between your birth certificate and other forms of ID that you may have, like a Social Security card and those kinds of things."

Stop with your simple truths - the OP wants to rant about why he is so oppressed by the Democrats, not be presented
with facts about the elderly and voting.

Shh... I want to know why the OP thinks 1/10 Americans who can't get photo ID are oppressing him.

Is that why they're doing it? Well... they're failing miserably, aren't they? Because the only type of voter fraud that has had any effect is voter suppression. Which is a weapon mostly used by Republicans

Before requiring photo ID are they going to go door to door with a camera and an ID maker and take the pictures and create the ID's for all those who do not have them????

You want facts Daniel. Let's talk facts.

The Constitution guarantees a right to bear arms, and the left will vehemently defend limitations and requirements like registration and others.

Bit, when it comes to voting, no limitation and requirement is acceptable.

The fact is, that's a hypocritical position. No matter how much you try and spin it, move the goal posts, or deflect.

The other fact.. the left wants power, power needs votes, and they are willing to accept sacrificing integrity of elections in order to gain control.

Those are the facts, and you absolutely know it.

Democrats who have suffered from the state putting up barriers to voting in the past... might not want barriers to voting in the future. Not really "power", so much as "we saw what happened the last time the state put up barriers to voting", and they don't want any more strange fruit hanging from southern trees.

The ONLY photo ID I have is my drivers license, something a great many seniors among us do not have especially among the black and Hispanic population.

Please explain to me why registering people to vote when they register for social security / the draft is such a deal breaker for Republicans?

Could it be that Republicans try and find issues that greatly effect a majority of Democratic voters as opposed to Republican voters, and then try and pass laws that "effect everyone" but its main purpose is to really just create barriers to voting for your opposition?

So the only argument you could find was an octogenarian who never bothered to raise a proxy birth certificate?

Let's stay focused on the vast majority, who are not in that very particular and unusual situation.

Why shouldn't voting be as easy and comfortable as possible?

And that they don't have computers/phones/access to the internet/relatives to help them out, or $20 to pay for an ID, etc etc etc.

IOW they think black Americans are helpless, dumb, incapable of saving $20, and friendless.

Yeah, let's not focus on the 1/10 Americans who don't have photo ID, nevermind the fact that 1/10 also happened to be the historical ratio of African Americans to White Americans, leading to things like lynchings, riots, KKK going on murderous rampages with little to no political accountability, etc. Oh isn't the history of denying 1/10's of the population the right to vote so violent! Tell me, do you honestly not realize that denying people voting rights because of things like "not having a Photo ID" can lead to violence?

What a load of bs. If they want an id, no one will stop them. This is the stupidest excuse you could come up with?
