I have explained multiple time the difference between tracking illegal drugs vs illegal guns. Guns can be tracked to the original owner, drugs can't once they are out of packaging.

Of course we have searchable databases to track drugs from manufacturer to pharmacy to patient. Gun sales are kept private and are accessible through paper copies only. Seems like that should be a quick fix.

Guess you never heard of Dem politician Leland Yee who wanted to ban honest citizens from owning guns while he imported AK-47s from China to sell to gangs and criminals. What database were his guns registered in?

Tell it to someone whose family has been killed by drunk driving illegals welcomed (if not imported) into the country by liberals.

Thats very ignorant. I do hope its not deliberate... guns are tracked by their serial number which is removed by all but the lawfully intent and the dumbest of criminals. Might as well say 'we can track weed by putting a barcode sticker on it'- you know why that wouldn't, right? It doesn't work for guns for the same reason.

It was a sting operation. The guns may not even have existed. But looks like he got caught.

You're right, no one cares about my personal problems, therefore I don't care about the personal problems of others.

Why the hell should I care about anyone else? I have not heard a good reason yet.

Serial numbers can be lifted even when filed down. Plus we easily have technology to embed the numbers into the metal. California and other states are going to require microprinting this year, which will "print" each bullet casing with the gun information. Much harder to get around than a bag of weed.

No. Perhaps a little harder... Do you have any experience with a dremel, a welder or an angle grinder? And this applies only of course to legally manufactured firearms. Increasing restrictions will increase the profitability of illegal (untraceable) manufacturing, just like it increased the profitability of growing marijuana and building methlabs.

If you are going to bring up drugs in a gun discussion than I can bring up illegals driving drunk. Or are you not concerned about public safety?

So, what you are now referring to is your opinion of where illegality exists. Trot it out to your local or federal law enforcement. Get them involved. I provided you the current law.

How so? They kill other people.

Yes, fire arms can be used to kill other people. The fire arm itself is not the issue, the person wielding it is. Making all the laws you could possibly dream of in regards to registering a gun, isn't going to change that fact.

I believe the OP is arguing that taking gun's away would stop mass shootings --- or rather-- that legislation would remove guns , thus stopping mass shooting.

Those things are only profitable in places where they are illegal, not merely regulated. The black market for weed here in Colorado is basically non-existent now that it's legal.

Statement of facts, are not 'excuses'. I address points as they are presented.

What 'solution' is there? There will always be people who will kill others, regardless of the weapon chosen. Take a look at England and their issue with knives. Shall we devolve to that point?

When the first set of laws are dysfunctional since we have this thing called the 2nd Amendment, the only way those who wish to see that Right dismantled, would be to address it by ratification of a repeal of that Amendment. More laws won't be fixing the issue, and the attempt to enact them by some level of emotional justification, is still not going to fix the problem which is not the guns, but the reason people commit murder. If it weren't guns, it would be another tool.

If you are talking about 80% lower receivers, that can easily be remedied. As far as straight from scratch guns, there is a reason you don't see them. If they were ever produced on a large scale they would have the feds crawling all over them.
