    Anyway, Congratulations. You just ruined your entire career for a joint not to mention screwing the country out of a possible sweep in the 100 meters, or atleast a 1-2 finish.

    Ya, "You go girl" - on no, wait, you actually dont go - not to the Tokyo Olympic 100 meters event, anyway. The only sponsor in your future might only be one from a 12 step program

    That's pretty harsh considering she smoked the weed to cope with her mother's unexpected death.

    Hmmm....I thought Michael Phelps was quite the toker too......can't say I care one way or the other, the Olympics have been a load of overblown Bulls**t since they pulled it out the dung heap in 1896.

    I play golf all the time while smoking weed. Easier to relax and focus on the elements.

    Golf is one thing, but running a sprint or lifting weights is really strenuous. Or swimming.

    I remember in 1998 when snowboarding was first introduced into the Winter Olympics. Canadian snowboader, Ross Rebagliati, was briefly stripped of his gold medal because he tested positive for marijuana. Like, duh! He should have gotten another medal for doing it high.

    Marijuana is a weed that grows wild. Think of it as a natural emotional pain killer and sleep enhancer. Nothing wrong with that is there?

    Boycott the Tokyo Olympics

    And future Olympics with similar
    transgender & marijuana policies.

    Hopefully the IOC will notice
    a popular boycott,

    This is where I start to question the war on "doping", it's just become a taboo against drug use irrespective of their effect on performance.

    What's wrong with performance diminishing drugs in sport, shouldn't that be a matter for the club or nation to discipline since it does not hurt competition in any way?

    It's like deliberately cutting off your leg at the knee and getting banned for using performance enhancing prosthetics lol.

    Lots of people unexpectedly lose their mothers but they don't smoke weed. But that's her way of saying "It wasn't my fault". She needs to study the word "sports". Move the second place person up to first place and test them. Get tough. Athletes are tested, so anyone in sports who ingest any kind of drug must be a moron.

    I understand the IOC wanting to test. They are looking for performance-enhancing drugs. MJ doesn't enhance physical performance. You just want to flog her because you obviously have an outdated view of marijuana.

    I played baseball and basketball into my 50s with a bunch of weed smoking surfers. We all played pretty well. I guess it just depends what kind of person you are and how you perceive life in general.

    Athletes are often using prescribed pain killers and anti depressants which are far more harmful than cannabis. There should be no circumstances in which an athlete is banned for using cannabis products. This insane practice ruined one of the great running backs of our time, Ricky Williams. It is about time that these armchair athletes get their heads out of their asses regarding MJ.

    We consistently beat non high competition. Some people can get in the zone while they are high on weed. I know many professionals like lawyers, doctors, mechanics, software programmers and other high functioning people who smoke weed with their morning coffee every day.

    Has it been proven that the weed even gave her a performance boost? I'm no doctor but I fail to see how weed made her run faster....

    If I'm wrong someone please correct me.

    If in fact weed had no bearing on her physical performance and she gets DQ'd for simply smoking it because it's "illegal" then that's pretty stupid. I am 100% in favor of all participants respecting and adhering to the rules and regulations of an event in which they wish to compete, however, weed being illegal in and of itself is a stupid law anyway.

    So yes I agree with the decision based purely on principle because folks should respect the rules (even if stupid) if they voluntarily choose to participate in the Olympics. But for the love of God weed being illegal ranks among one of the top 5 most idiotic laws this world has ever had.
