So what is this? A little context of the picture. This is the door of the Portland courthouse that the protestors barricaded people in to and set fire to during one of their 150+ nights of seiging the courthouse So what would you call that?
If it makes you more comfortable with the Jan. 6 riot not describing an attempt to violently prevent the certification of the newly elected prez and install the unelected one as an insurrection or treason or sedition.....so be it.
No see I’m a man of consistency. I believe you have to be consistent. The problem here I’m having with you folks is that you’re not consistent. You only label this the way you do because the conservatives did it. I don’t have a problem with you calling it insurrection. I wasn’t there and no one I know was so meh. However, I do have a problem with Jan 6 being called insurrection while the left argues that CHAZ and the Portland riots targeting a federal courthouse that lasted over 150 days, including at least two nights that I’m aware of where they sieged the courthouse, barricaded people inside and attempted to set it on fire... all in an effort to terrorize the population and the government into accepting their reforms, was not an insurrection. That I do have a problem with.
protestors???????? I don't call it a protest ... the fires in the picture (yours and mine) are conducive to a riot. .... rebellions have a lot more red, white, and blue in them.
Just to add a much overlooked fact to your already poignant message here, those riots all summer long in Leftist governed cities by thousands of armed leftists found few if any of those criminals being arrested for any of those violent crimes. And the few that were arrested were quickly released to go out and dance the same tune of destruction all over again. And what do the 500 or so rioters from Jan 6 get for their time of rioting at the Capitol building? Most if not all of them have been locked up in solitary confinement-23 hours a day for almost 6 months now. Just because they weren't a part of the liberal-leftist cabal of street criminals, they weren't allowed to receive a 'Get-out-of-jail-free-ticket', or even a word on when their case(s) will be heard in court.
maybe if trumpov would admit defeat they would no longer be considered a threat and could be released until their court dates.
>You would need F-22s and nuclear weapons to take on the government. >January 6th was an insurrection. Pick one.
Nice one. Oh how the left likes to put the fear in people by insisting Jan 6 was a violent insurrection, or that global warming is our nation's biggest threat. Btw, should we now call global warming an insurrection? My definition of insurrection would most certainly be the crisis seen at our southern border where our national security is being left to die on the vine thanks to joe biden's anti American leadership in allowing our nation to be overrun with illegal trafficking, illegal immigration, deadly drug smuggling, violent crime, etc.
You are consistant with anger tword your fellow countrymen. The difference between the Riots of 2020 and January 6, 2021 is, IF the insurrectionists had been successful in overturning OUR presidential election, which was their stated goal, These United States, as we've known them, would have ceased to exist. Government Of, By and For the people would have been replaced with a Klepto-Autocracy; and, most likely, we would never have had a presidential election again.
Yes, it is a rebellion. But they are rebelling against Democracy, the rule of law and The United States of America. All at the behest of one man. For, one man. So that one man could retain power. Sounds like they were rebelling, so a dictator could remain in charge.
Do you want a TRUE example of insurrection or treason or sedition.... why where these two presidents not charged with treason? when a former "prez" and our current "prez" used the US agencies and were involved and participated in a coup attempt against a duly elected president.... that is the true definition and example of treason..
the insurrectionists had been assured that the army and police were on their side, and, to a large extent, trump had placed loyalists at the pentagon.
when did "a former "prez" and our current "prez" used the US agencies and were involved and participated in a coup attempt against a duly elected president????????????" answer in advance : ridiculous
The vitriol half the nation has against these rioters wouldn't tolerate leniency. If insurection charges would stick, they would be applied. ...I take it NO ONE has been charged with insurrection yet?
I think that they failed in their quest to overturn the election is working in their favor. Of course IF they had succeeded, we wouldn't be having this discussion and Benedict Donald would be president.
You're absolutely right. They didn't succeed, they aren't being charged with insurrection ... AND ... Donald Judas Trump ISN'T president. I can't call that a win considering how close to losing Government By The People we came because of "tRumps BIG lie", but America lives to fight another day.
Until they decided to go full tRump-Q a lot of Republicans were saying the same thing. Self interest has supplanted patriotism in the party of tRump.
