https://www.vice.com/en/article/epn9ae/tiktok-shrek-porn-anti-abortion-website Soooooo can someone explain to me how this legislation does not violate a woman’s right to privacy. I think the TikTokkers have just shown the massive loopholes here by spamming this website. It would be ultra easy for people to enter someone’s name maliciously and then that woman would face having to be investigated to determine IF she had an abortion. Surely there would then have to be some form of investigation to determine if this allegation had a foundation in truth and that would mean, surely opening her medical files - and isn’t that a breach of HIPPA? This legislation is so fraught I cannot see it lasting beyond the first court challenge
It's appalling the lengths that Anti-Choicers will go to to make women's lives as hard as possible.....their cruelty and stupidity know no bounds.
No. no, no..."snitch websites" such as this leave a bad taste in my mouth. While I personally have some moral problems with abortion I'll never need to seek one so I'm OK with it with "reasonable time restrictions" and exceptions for the health of the woman as determined by a physician. Lest any forget, terminating a pregnancy goes waaaay back, it's my understanding that in Roman times a plant native to the region was so efficient at inducing spontaneous abortions that it was hunted to extinction (you'd think they'd have tried to cultivate it).
Abortifacients have been used in every culture and throughout history This idea of a “snitch’ website is so fraught. Can you imagine if someone has a miscarriage but some “Karen” they work with decides that they brought it on themselves by skydiving or playing netball or eating Paw Paw (which actually has abortifacient properties) and names the spouse or the netball association or even the green grocer as the person “assisting” the abortion
But the point is this legislation has riled up the millennials and actually has the potential to lose them support among the base - especially if that website turns into what I fear - a method of bullying and discrediting women
It is a violation of a woman's right to privacy and HIPPA laws. There isn't any argument anyone can present that says otherwise. It's so bizarre to me that people that can't even grow a fetus or give birth think they have a right to determine what someone else should do with their own body. They, the majority, won't even wear a mask (because it infringes on their rights) but want to dictate the rights of other people. Well, Orange Jesus did say that women having abortions should be punished and we know the Great Almighty has many supporters and apologists. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=trump+on+abortion And, given his bent on cheating (with no protection) on all three of his wives, I'm willing to bet he's paid for more than one abortion.
The implications of this are mind boggling. And it ALSO a has a a “reward” attached and THAT a is very very concerning https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/po...way-patients-ahead-draconian-new-law-n1278184
I would take that bet because I am sure there is more than one woman with a nice fat NDA a who has had an abortion thanks to Donnie
Yep. And, all of them should qualify for some kind of hazard duty pay just to let his nastiness touch them.
Yeah! Even the thought…… But back to the topic - does anyone think this website “dobbing” women and supporters in is a GOOD idea?
I don't believe it's a good idea but I also don't understand how it's supposed to work. From your OP: Who are the individuals that may have helped a patient get an abortion? Doctors? Uber drivers? A parent or friend? And, how would anybody even know that about someone else? It seems like the <individual> would be the only one to know besides the woman and that person would obviously be supportive of her decision. As you mentioned, this violates HIPPA. A woman's doctor or therapist or minister or insurance company can't disclose that information so who is tattling? More importantly, why can't people mind their own business?
I am not clicking that link!!!! No good can come from lawyers taking over an issue. Defending ones self from a lawsuit is enough to bankrupt anyone but the very wealthy. Of course, this concern for ones right to bodily autonomy seems to end when a woman wants to protect her body from a rapist/killer with a gun. HIPPA is a big deal, but the second amendment isn't!
