I have never liked the idea of an abortion. But I am a male and after years of being an ******* on the subject I have decided that I shouldn't judge other peoples choices. Especially the choice of a woman. As far as a woman that has had an abortion? No social stigma whatsoever and surgery performed by medical professionals. Maybe there should be an time limit on the age of a fetus.....I don't know. But Texas law doesn't seem long enough to me.
Every situation is different and I KNOW you do not have the safety and/or welfare of any women in mind..
FoxHastings said: ↑ After six weeks they can't get an abortion without some PERVERT turning them in.... Admit you couldn't address my post. WHY should a woman have to get an abortion before 6 weeks??? To let old white male legislators and other MISOGYNISTS get their ROCKS OFF when women can't do it before then ??
Do you think repeated pregnancies for the rest of her life would be good for her? OH , yes..... a misogynist would LOVE that...keep 'em preggers like cattle..
FoxHastings said: ↑ That's because the "people" in Texass don't see anything wrong with rape and incest....in fact they probably will erase the word rape from their very limited hillbilly vocabulary because they just think that's "normal "sex".. That did nothing to refute the post of mine you quoted. In fact, subsequent posts by Anti-Choicers have proved me correct in every way.
Ah, but Abbott has declared that he will now put an end to rape in Texas. Of course, he's talking about prosecuting rapists - which doesn't END rape. But hey, he's trying to defend his new law!
You obviously didn't read the TX law, because it does. Why would you purposefully push a narrative everyone knows is false?
Breaking old news: pregnancy tests don't show anything for the first 7-12 days at least, and as we all know - do we all, really? - women's bodies are not machines, and far from perfect, so the aforementioned period may be even longer. For the most accurate result the test should be done a week after a missed period. A woman who takes a pregnancy test on, say, the 9th day, or even on the 12th day, and the test is negative, might think she's not pregnant and have a nasty surprise few weeks later. There went Abbott's measly six weeks down the drain.
That reminds me something... Oh, yes. Did you know that the day after pill causes all sorts of undesirable side effects? Also, it's not intended for frequent use. One of those very undesirable side effects is delaying the period for up to a week. If the pill doesn't work, or the woman is already pregnant at the time but she doesn't know because pregnancy tests are only accurate one week after a missed period, please calculate the chances of having an abortion within six weeks. There went Abbott's six weeks down the drain. Again.
Good posts but you know the point is NOT to save a zygote but to make women's lives hell and turn them into nothing more than cattle...
Gov. Abbott Claims Texas Will ‘Eliminate’ Rapists In Defending Abortion Ban https://www.forbes.com/sites/alison...ts-in-defending-abortion-ban/?sh=7aa47ff3593e We can see that Greg's mouth is writing checks his ass can't cash.
I think what he means by that is that now men can rape women freely but they won't call it rape just a "women behaving badly"
Nobody is wanting a law that will forbid an abortion due to the health of the mother...(physical, life death health. Not emotional bullshit that would be tried to circumvent responsability) So nice try. https://www.nytimes.com/2021/09/01/health/texas-abortion-law-facts.html Does the law make exceptions for pregnancies resulting from rape or incest, or to protect the life of the mother? The law does not make exceptions for rape or incest. It does permit abortions for health reasons, but the exceptions are narrowly drawn, allowing a termination only if the pregnancy could endanger the mother’s life or lead to “substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function,” Ms. Nash noted. “These are very narrow exceptions,” she said, and the language does not cover every instance in which a woman’s health might be at risk. Nonetheless, she added, “Health providers will be very conservative about interpreting the law, because they don’t want to cross a line.” Seems fine to me.
I'm sure misogynists would LOVE the idea that raped women and 12 year olds impregnated by their father suffer more than any rapist... That's why in Texass soon rape won't even be a crime...or , like radical Muslims, women will be stoned or imprisoned for "" forcing"" men to rape them ..,.
Texas restricts this measure to those over 17. Otherwise, a prescription is required. That means an appointment with a doctor certified to write prescriptions. So, saying it is "day after" is not actually true. Beyond that, getting seen by a doctor is not free and requires finding one and requires the transportation. Plus, the prescribing physician can add requirements such as parental notification. Consider what parental notification means for incest victims. Even then, it requires the help of both a doctor and a pharmacist, each of whom can deny medication on the grounds of religious belief. And, not all pharmacies choose to carry the medication.
Are you suggesting that means that we can ignore rape and incest? There are half a million rapes reported each year, and it is known that this number is a serious undercount. I would suggest that you really do not know what percent of abortions are due to rape. The reporting rate for incest is far far worse than for rape, as one would expect. But, back to the top - what the HELL are you suggesting concerning how we treat rape and incest?
I'm suggesting that at that point, things can easily be looked at, at a case by case basis. You know? Since they are so few and far between.

Uh, all reported rapes are "looked at"....duh, it's called investigating a crime....ever heard of it? It's been around for a long time....
No, that is just plain nonsense. First of all, Texas law does NOTHING EVEN CLOSE to that. It is an attack on rape and incest victims that is a continuation and augmentation of past attacks. Second, there is only ONE PERSON who knows whether a rape occurred, and that is the woman who was raped. So, what the heck is there for government officials to "look at"??
