Do you believe sexual predators should be branded?

Am I correct in my apprehension that Reformed Judaism is the only religion that actually permits a professed atheist to still be a full-fledged member?

Because I don't care and half the time I suspect you folks just post random pictures of women anyways.

That’s what her entire point is. If it’s unconstitutional to require registration and community notification then it has to be unconstitutional for ALL sexual predators and pedophiles. What are you talking about?

So do you agree with her? Sexual predators and pedophiles shouldn’t have to register as such or notify the community?

Registration after serving the sentence is unconstitutional. If you release them on parole early, that would be an acceptable condition.
Just because they're pedophiles and therefore human waste does not give rise to the ability of the government to expand its powers.

If you'd like to ask my opinion on a law requiring the death penalty for a first offense of child molestation, you'd find that I would 100% support that. But not registration. The same way you catch the death penalty for treason, but not exile.

Wholly disagree. You’re presupposing that the pedophile and sexual predators right to not be pariahs by being labeled as what they were convicted as is more important and trumps the right of the law abiding citizen to be safe in their neighborhood from violent felons who UNEQUIVOCALLY have the highest recidivism rate of any crime.

Sexual predators are threats to ANY community they enter and the populous has a fundamental right to safety to be informed they’re there.

See you view the sexual predator as having the same level of rights as everyone else. I do not. If the sexual predators rights are conflicting with the law abiding public’s rights. It is not the law abiding public who should have their rights curtailed. It is the sexual predator. He made that choice when he decided to sexually assault someone.

I have no idea. Judaism is also considered a race of sorts. I am more familiar with "Messianic Jews".

That's no excuse. You also had slavery before. Would you shrug your shoulders if it was brought back and say "Like that hasn't happened before"?

I am no fan of Trump, but I didn't hear Trump state that he would only consider white males for any job. I DID hear Biden state he will only choose a woman as VP and only choose a black person as supreme court nominee.

So you can sentence a pedophile to jail, and take away their freedoms, but you can't have registration in the sentence?

    Weird.

No I'm saying that registration and forcible reporting to the neighborhood is unconstitutional. You want to jail someone? Do so. But assessing them lifetime registration and reporting as a civil measure after the fact is blatantly unconstitutional, particularly when you're not getting it as a bargain freely entered in to if they want parole. You think because they're scum its acceptable for the government to act as if the constitution doesn't exist. That's not how that works. It doesn't matter that they're scum, the government doesn't have that power and therefore cannot exercise it. Period.

I literally said if you wanted to kill them for a first offense of molestation I'd be down, the **** more do you want?

If you think they're a threat, assess them the death penalty. That doesn't give the government the right to radically expand its powers.

Additionally: You realize the people referred to in brown's "soft" cases are not violent felons... right? You get that those very specific instances your... ilk... are blasting her for are 'nonproduction' offenses that don't involve a live victim actually harmed by the defendant? You realize that in those incredibly specific circumstances the recidivism rate is not actually the highest of any crime and is 3% for those, again, very particular cases? Sure you do. You just like to be hyperbolic because you're just all hot and bothered to expand government power.

Not unless you trade them early release for it so its a bargain entered in to freely.

You can hang someone for treason, but you can't exile them. Literally. Similar principle here.

I'm unfamiliar with registration ever being challenged on constitutional grounds.

I don't see an argument here at all. Registration would not be "unconstitutional".....it is part of the sentence!

You being unfamiliar with the cases doesn't mean they do not exist.
I'm absolutely certain you're unfamiliar with more cases than I could reasonably shake a stick at.
Had you ever considered googling it?

    https://reason.com/2020/01/18/sex-offender-laws-are-broken-these-women-are-working-to-fix-them/
^ Gee that took all of 30 seconds.
    https://reason.com/2022/03/18/josh-...-jackson-has-a-soft-spot-for-child-predators/
^ 3% recidivism rate for the very specific limited instances this thread has been discussing, based on an actual study of actual cases.
    https://reason.com/2021/10/15/feder...evere-penalties-for-nonviolent-sex-offenders/
^ this one goes a bit more indepth on the study and other studies of the type, stratifying by type of offense and comparing and contrasting.

Odd then that registration etc is a 'civil regulation' not a 'criminal punishment' per scotus. Its almost like.... you have no idea what the cases surrounding this actually say. As if you were entirely ignorant of those cases, and therefore the law, yet still thought yourself learned enough to attempt to make witty asides.

Couldn't find the constitutional issue you are referring to. The ones challenged in the article were not challenged as registries, but certain requirements like signs on First Amendment grounds. But I wish you luck in your activism for sex predator civil rights.

Except that multiple state constitutions allow for exile and nothing in the constitution prohibits it.

Furthermore, the registration is not ADDITIONAL penalties. It is part of the original punishment handed down by the court. In lieu of executing their sorry asses or giving them life sentences they can get out but they have to register.

Let’s ask them whether they’d like a lifetime prison sentence or registration. Will that make you feel better?
