Seriously? Do you need an alarm to know you've left a car door open? That's what I call grasping at straws.

 

Yes. Happens all the time. That's why they made alarms for it. It doesn't latch all the way and when you start driving the force causes it to open.

 

I think the victim saw her chance and tried to escape. Then she died.

It looks like the woman was very emotional and having a mental illness episode.

In old times, they used to call such women "hysterical".

The cops are *always* justified if a minority is harmed or killed even if the person isn't any kind of threat to them.

Cops attacked by an angry mob of thousands at the Capitol are insignificant and the criminals are faultless.

Then, it flips back to the cops were scared and have tough jobs so they didn't want to enter the Uvalde school where a mass murderer was mowing down little kids.



So, once again, it's proven, those "precious little lives" don't matter when they become detached from a womb.

 

The cops took her into their custody and so became responsible for her health.
And a car door doesn't magically open in a cop car. So it's obviously it's their fault.

 

She was black. So we can add that to the list of cops killing an other black person for no reason but sheer amateurism and not caring about black lives.


Too many cops just suck at their job. Them civil servants are treated like little princesses who couldn't hold a job in the real world.

That insanity aside, if the door isn’t shut properly the suspect can kick it open. I’ve had windows kicked out of my cars by cuffed prisoners. Seat belts can save you from being hurt in an accident, but they can be unlocked by the cuffed prisoner. There are many examples of cuffed prisoners unlocking the belt and crawling into the front seat and driving off, or retrieving a weapon that should have been found during the search and killing the officer.

There won't be any protests/riots, because people realize it was an accident and didn't involve any over-aggressive actions (like gunfire, chokeholds, etc) from the LE side.

There are probably consequences, but it was an accident nonetheless.

Usually, Police cars have a video camera on the perps in the back seat. I wonder when that will be released. Also, Officer would have to be driving incredibly erratically for someone to fall out of a car. I have gone riding in the dunes without a seat belt and not fallen out without holding onto something. Will have to wait and see the evidence before jumping to conclusions.

The cops obviously have some degree of blame.

 

How often do cops face consequences for their mistakes or even deliberate violations? For decades cops were not held accountable for even the most egregious abuses.

That fact is what allowed BLM to gain power. BLM is not interested in public safety or even black lives, but they latched onto police abuse as their rallying cry to incite riots in people who were sick of police abuse.

 

So, being unhappy about perceived police abuses calls for lighting property you don't own on fire, stealing, and murder/assault? Or maybe those people are just pieces of **** in the first place with nothing going on in their lives. That seems more fitting, actually.

 

It is really hard to say because most police departments do not let the public know of suspensions of officers for violating policy unless the media is involved because of a particular case. The only way we know there are consequences for a police officer is either a charge by a grand jury, such as Chauvin, or the police department provides a statement to the public that the officer has been suspended. Where I live, at least the local newspapers, like the Dallas Morning News and the Fort Worth Star Telegram report on this in their metro section from time to time. But even I am unsure if that is all or just the ones the department wants us public to know about.

Another way to find out is to request a FOIA. States, especially republican states like Wisconsin, want to roll back the use of FOIA requests on such things. And such requests are usually done by partisan groups trying to get an edge on someone or some policy.
