Many of our intellectual problems and difficult questions can be pleasantly and reassuringly stored here: "The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and our children forever." Deuteronomy 29:29 And . . . Regarding some questions the Lord Jesus said: "It is not for you to know." Acts 1:7 And . . . Not even the great Apostle Paul had all the answers: "Now I know in part" __Paul 1 Corinthians 13:12 We will get the answers to our difficult questions when we get home to Heaven. Meanwhile we wait patiently and we "Have faith in God"__ The Lord Jesus (Mark 11:22) Thoughts? []
There is more than one way to pursue knowledge. Faith, science, reason, and revelation are all ways to pursue knowledge. And yes, I an certain that after death we will receive many answers. "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.".
You asserting that there are inconsistencies within the philosophy does not mean that there are inconsistencies within the philosophy. It means no more than YOU think there are. One man's inconsistency is another man's consistency. Thought For Today: Christianity is a FAITH. Christianity does not have to satisfy your personal intellectual problems. Christianity offers you a compassionate ultimatum and here tis: "But he [Jesus}continued, “You are from below; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world. I told you that you would die in your sins; if you do not believe that I am he, you will indeed die in your sins.” John 8;23 -24 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." John 3:16-18 JAG []
Yeah, I’m small and dumb and the imaginary god is great and big so I should suspend my critical thinking and just believe what the man on the podium says. After all, the imaginary god made a big sacrifice that I should feel guilty about if I don’t believe it. Makes sense.
Enjoy your critical thinking for a short while here on this earth, for it will come to an end, as in perish (see bolded red below) "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." John 3:16-18 Note the contrast between: (1) perish and (2) eternal life (which is the opposite of perish) Its your choice. Free Will. So choose what is in your best interest, that is eternal life. Its never to late as long as you are alive. The raod you are on leads to a dead end. Dead as in perish. []
It's not a choice. I can't lie to myself like that and really believe it. First prove there's an afterlife at all. Then that there's a god. But you probably can't prove that Christianity makes sense, because it doesn't. Most likely we all just cease to exist when we die. I'd like to be wrong even if it meant being tortured forever, but it's just what it seems like from what I've seen so far.
Yeah, there is a difference between eternal life and perishing. Repeating yourself isn’t going to cut it. You also know that this is not the only thing the bible tells you to do to have eternal life, right? It’s more than just having faith that god exists.
It is a choice. You do in truth have a Free Will. However the choice works this way: You have to have supernatural help to be brought to the place where you can make a choice. You have a sinful nature (we all do) that does not want anything to do with God your Creator and therefore you must have supernatural help to be brought to the point where you can actually pray the sinner's prayer and be saved. You can not possibly do this in your own strength. You MUST have God's supernatural help to do this. So what is step one? Its very simple: You only have to ask the Lord to help you come to the place where you can believe and be saved. Pray that simple prayer from the heart sincerely and your life will either suddenly or gradually change in hugely wonderful, blessed ways. Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner dead in sin, and I ask that you help me to come to the place where I can sincerely pray the following prayer: Lord Jesus I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name. Amen. We Will Get The Answers When We Get To Heaven. Yes, but when we reincarnate, we will start over again knowing nothing. Only small residuals of our past lives we retain.
I was 37 at the time and I had pneumonia on my left lung. As I was attempting to go to sleep I was on my right side. I had visions so horrific and vile, so grotesque that made all the horror movies combined seem like a nursery rhyme. I couldn't stand it and rolled onto my infected side. It was so painful, that I went back to the right side. Again, I saw the visions, eyes closed. That too, I couldn't stand it as I couldn't sleep, so I rolled back again to my infected side and took a leap of faith. I was in pain but eventually fell asleep. There was nothing in between that I could recall, on sleep then the experience. I was in a warm glow, soft light all around, I had no fear, no worries and all problems were non-existent. It felt like a warm loving embrace of security like a hug from a parent that loves you dearly. I kept hearing not audio, but a telepathic voice that kept repeating, "you cannot stay here, you must return, you must go back, you're not finished yet, you have many many more lives to live and missions and lessons to learn. You must go back. Go back now." The next thing I remember is dropping back into my body from about 3 feet with a jolt. I woke up crying inconsolably waking my wife in the process. I explained to her what I have to you. I did not want to leave where I was, I was home. Things were much different then, I began to know of things I have no prior knowledge of, and many things clicked as to why I knew certain skills. I am male and I spent 14 years in the Australian army as an infantryman. I cook like a chef, can sew like a seamstress, and have a knack for flower arrangements. I have never done any of these in this life. This is why I state we carry residuals of our past lives with us into the next. Physical life is just a game we play to learn and gain experience from.
You'll be a good little sheep, obey your master and get slaughtered for the angels to eat. Then you'll start over again as an innocent little lamb.
