My point exactly. The problem needs to be dealt with and that involves border states and the federal government and the good will of other states. Sending aliens to Chicago and New York does nothing to help and probably does some harm. Two parties in Washington and various states need work together on this.

In my opinion none of the people that should be involved want to solve the problem they want to use the problem for political gain. I remember when President Trump and Nancy Pelosi looked like they would make some progress, but the President's own party make him "adjust" his stated position on Dreamers and that ended that.

You're asking someone to, essentially, prove a negative. We can only show how the Biden admin isn't doing anything, which they're not. But what isn't up for debate is that the border is a huge issue. What's also not up for debate is that Biden isn't doing anything about it.

You can try to play word games all you want, but you can't get around those simple and very obvious facts.

    No they aren't.

They are being sent there because it's easy for liberals to talk a big game about allowing immigrants in when they are confined thousands of miles away.

They proclaim they are sanctuary cities which encourages more immigrants to cross the border.

Then, when they get a few, they immediately ship them to the suburbs and complain.

    As usual, ****ing hypocrites.

The process to declare desired asylum is to report to a checkpoint and make the declaration.

    Not run across the border.

Simple. To reduce the strain on social services due to number of immigrants being housed.

Plus, these other states and cities have expressed their desire to help.

What’s the problem. It’s not like they’re rapists and criminals. Right?

Probably for the same reason Republicans don't. That aside, when two people publicly agree on something and then one side says "nah" it kind of ruins trust.

That is the bottom line here. Biden is also to blame for letting them in his country in the 1st place

Nope, because of the tone of his rhetoric in sending them there.

His tone? Oh great, more "feels" non-sense.

    What he has actually said:

“In addition to Washington, D.C., New York City is the ideal destination for these migrants, who can receive the abundance of city services and housing that Mayor Eric Adams has boasted about within the sanctuary city,” Abbott said in a news release. “I hope he follows through on his promise of welcoming all migrants with open arms so that our overrun and overwhelmed border towns can find relief.”

Abbott sent a letter Monday to Adams and Bowser inviting them to the border region to “see firsthand the dire situation.”

"Texas will continue busing migrants to NYC & D.C. to help our overrun border communities," Abbott said Friday.

"This busing mission is providing much-needed relief to our overwhelmed border communities," the statement from Texas said.

"Frankly, I don't know of a larger crisis facing our country right now," he said. "Before we began busing migrants to New York, it was just Texas and Arizona that bore the brunt of all the chaos and problems that come with it. Now, the rest of America can understand exactly what is going on."

Democrats don't want to do anything to address the migration problem simply because it allows them to try an use the group to get votes and they can hide in their far northern cities.

It's funny they make these sanctuary cities to get votes, but them criticize Abbott as "using" them.

    More hypocrisy from the left.

But if they are moved to those three cities and ever get the vote, they would only keep a blue area blue. Bidens’ intent is to turn red areas blue with them.

Only for a generation or so.

Most people realize that a large portion of our border patrol are actually Hispanic.

Once a couple if generations go by, most immigrants seem to realize that unfettered illegal immigration is bad for our country and start to support security.

It's amazing how lefties can't seem to learn the same.

HEH: DeSantis sends illegal immigrants to Martha’s Vineyard. Hilarious, but he should have done it before Labor Day.

That's a lovely spot for them to settle down on the State's tab. So pretty, and lovely houses etc.

And of course, the local rich white Progressives LOVE illegal migrants, so the welcome will be especially warm.

Whoever sent them there was doing them a great kindness, and I respect that. He clearly had their best interests at heart.

    Interesting.
“Martha’s Vineyard, off the coast of southern Massachusetts, is a resort island known for its natural beauty and is a popular destination for affluent vacationers. For its year-round population, the combined pressures of a severe shortage of affordable housing, the pandemic and inflation have produced untenable conditions that are driving some people off the island and making life increasingly onerous for many of those who remain.

Splendid vacation homes of the wealthy sit empty for months at a time while local residents scramble for housing.”

Naw the National Guard came and took them away to a joint military base pretty quickly and there was no open protest from the residents of Martha's Vineyard advocating they be allowed to stay in the neighborhood instead.

Governor said there wasn't adequate room and services in Martha's Vineyard (full of multi million dollar mansions and rich people) for these illegal immigrants to stay there. The welcoming community didn't disagree with the Governors sentiments as they watched from bedroom #8 of their homes.

A few of them did go out there and give them food and water and stuff though or so I've heard. Haven't read any reports of a resident inviting any of them inside to live with them instead of getting shipped off to a military base though.

Yes indeed. A very nice spot.

And the all-important boon of those welcoming "sanctuary" arms, will equate to a fine life for these new folk.

But the way you've couched your response suggests you're concerned that sanctuary will not actually be found there? That perhaps those Progressive arms are actually tightly clasped across chests - when it comes to brown peasants?
