I agree, Republicans are mostly on board or don't care. Unless Trump tells them it's bad, that is.

Are you sure its him who doesn't understand? It seems he is clear about what Federal vs State offences means. I also don't think he said anything about 220. Someone brought that up from 2017

From the article: "President Joe Biden on Thursday granted a pardon to all people convicted of simple marijuana possession under federal law"

    and

"The president also urged governors to take similar action for state offenses of civil possession of marijuana. In addition, he called on the Secretary of Health and Human Services and the Attorney General to “expeditiously” review how marijuana is scheduled under federal law. Currently, marijuana is classified as a Schedule I narcotic, meaning it’s deemed to have no medical use and a high potential for abuse. Heroin and LSD are other Schedule I drugs."

For me, I didn't feel much with smoking or vaping, maybe because I wasn't doing it right. But edibles? Oh . . . that **** was buckling up for a ****ing ride. I had a couple of those "Oh, THAT is the paranoia thing they were talking about" moments, but not in a bad way. I was self-aware of being paranoid, which was a trip in itself. My mom and sister and I took them one Thanksgiving after the kids had gone to sleep and it was one of the coolest experiences we've ever shared. The only reason I don't have them every weekend is that I'm still casually interviewing for new jobs.

    Credit where its due :applause:

I doubt Biden has anything to do with it personally, beyond signing and reading what he's told, but I guess he can have the benefit of that doubt for finally allowing his executive powers to be used legitimately and appropriately to do something that makes sense ...for twice.

(the other one was bringing microchip manufacturing back home, provided it actually happens ofc)

The 220 number seemed to be specific to Alabama, but I can double-check.

    @Pro_Line_FL

    From his own link:

"Sentencing reforms in recent years have resulted in fewer people actually serving time in the state pen for pot, authorities say and state data shows.

As of Oct. 17, 2016, there were 220 inmates - four out of five of them black - convicted of 1st degree Possession of Marijuana being held in state prisons, according to numbers from the Alabama Sentencing Commission's recent annual report."

He did some good work on prison reform, I'll admit. But this seems to go further.

the review is much needed as the DEA is not following the rules

    https://www.dea.gov/drug-information/drug-scheduling

    Schedule I

Schedule I drugs, substances, or chemicals are defined as drugs with no currently accepted medical use and a high potential for abuse. Some examples of Schedule I drugs are: heroin, lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD), marijuana (cannabis), 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (ecstasy), methaqualone, and peyote.

Nice family bonding. My brother, my son, and I have done that.

Fortunately for me, I'm retired now, and I live in Colorado where it's legal. I used to refrain for the same reason, but wonder of wonders, no one ever drug-tested me, not in nearly 50 years of working for a living. Almost makes me believe in miracles ... or maybe it's just the gummie talking ... 8)

I definitely had some really bad experiences the first couple of times I smoked. I don't know if that was because of bad product or a bad state of mind. The stuff I've had recently has given me and my wife consistent results, it's the same stuff my mom and sister take now, and it's actually legal here despite not being the "real" thing (delta 8).

Not to derail, as I know zippy about marijuana (other than it seems pretty benign and this plan makes sense to me), but it seems like it's happening

    https://www.tomshardware.com/news/new-us-fabs-everything-we-know

I'm sure some of these companies had some chip plans in play during the previous administration, but this CHIP Act seems to be putting it in turbodrive...

You need to add infrastructure to your list... See turbodrive above...

    The Red?

Do you know the history of how cannabis became illegal, and why they changed the name to marijuana? It's rooted in racism and fear of immigrants.

    https://www.britannica.com/story/why-is-marijuana-illegal-in-the-us

"Reefer makes darkies think they’re as good as white men." -- Henry J. Angling

However, that article missed a point when it stated "Some believe that he was motivated less by safety concerns—the vast majority of scientists he surveyed claimed that the drug was not dangerous—and more by a desire to promote his newly created department. Whatever the impetus ..."

Here's a big part of that impetus:

    https://www.seniorstoner.com/news-and-politics/anslinger-hearst-rockefeller-cannabis-history/

"... but Hearst had an even bigger financial motivation. In fact many have speculated that marijuana prohibition actually had little to do with marijuana and everything to do with hemp."

Hearst had boatloads of money invested in the timber industry.

Always follow the money. Hearst was a racist, but that was nothing compared to his avarice.

LOL! Now you know how I felt when Trump cut of the spigot of "aid" money to Pakistan. Just proves that even a broken clock is right twice a day, eh?

I always ask (usually via email), but I've never gotten a response that indicated yea of nay ... you know politicians, they never give direct answers to any question unless you corner them or run them up a tree.

Did you not listen to Biden's statement today or read the link and what he said to the states?

"The president added............................................that states should follow the administration’s lead because the vast majority of people incarcerated for marijuana possession in the U.S. are convicted under state or local laws."

Why don't you get up to speed before you start posting? He's leading from behind.

The infrastructure bill was mostly a bailout to irresponsible municipalities that are supposed to be using their local tax revenues to maintain their utilities, but instead waste it on boondoggles, social justice and corruption. You get more of what you subsidize, so we're gonna get more boondoggles, social justice and corruption, and the infrastructure will all break again next generation. It was a bad bill with just a little bit of good in it. Not something to celebrate...
