As a Republican, that would be hard to beat.

She would probably get elected just because she checks all the boxes and it would be a historical first.

Plus any good progressive could not in good conscience choose not to vote for her because it would be somehow construed to be racist.

I think you'd actually have a chance if you ran her for president and made Joe the VP because he's obviously not very good at being the president

Nothing against Kamala Harris but Michelle would probably help more with the transgender community.

    Obama fears her.

Jill and Joe are going to stand against that?

Michelle also implies that Democrats are a bunch of racists.

Michelle cried racism. “To be sure, black women straightened their hair for decades to fit in to white society. I get that they had to do that to get ahead, but those days ended long ago. But straightening her hair was her choice. Even with a Harvard Law degree and a husband as president, Michelle Obama straightened her hair. I thought it an odd and dated hairstyle but I am of the you-do-you school of thought, as long as you do not harm others. Now she contends she had to straighten her hair to get Obamacare passed. Given that it passed with Democrat votes only, she implies that Democrats were the racists because they were the only ones who could have stopped passage.”

Michelle if far, far too intelligent to be that stupid to be on a ticket. That's why we only have losers running because no one in their right minds would want the job.

That's too cynical for my way of thinking.

    Sorry, don't agree.

While I realize such a suggestion is not out of the ordinary, I am left with the question of why do you think this is a good idea?

She has never once been grilled on any type of political issue. She has never once taken part in a debate. She has never once ran for anything in her entire life. A first lady is mainly shielded from the slings and arrows of the rough and tumble world of politics. She is no more qualified to be President by virtue of having been first lady, than is the wife of the CEO of Ford Motor Company qualified to be the next CEO.

I could understand if you were advocating her running for President where you could see how she handles herself and whether her campaign gains traction etc. What you are proposing however, is that in July of the election year, you are going to have her join the ticket, and then hope beyond hope that she is ready for prime time. If that is what you want I say go for it, but I fail to see how that could possibly be your best course of action. Sure, Democrats love her, but you already have their vote. For independents, her being approved is far from a slam dunk. To me, that sounds like an incredibly risky decision.

No problem. Desantis just promises Trump a seat on the Supreme Court.

    He'd be creamed.

What dems are worried about is who his VP is going to be, given his age, something might happen to him.

With her on the ticket, it would be a huge sigh of relief for us.

IF he wins, he'll still lose the popular vote. There are more of us, than there are of you, an the EC is the only way y'all can win, where the EC distribution favors rural states.

This country would have to earn Michelle Obama. At this point we haven't done enough to demonstrate that we deserve her.

No, but let her run, and we'll see what she is made of. My gut feeling is that she will pass the test. She as proven she is a highly regarded orator, a very good quality for a statesman (persuasion is much of the job). After all, not only was she the first lady for 8 years, she is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. In her early legal career, she worked at the law firm Sidley Austin where she met Barack Obama. She subsequently worked in nonprofits and as the associate dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago as well as the vice president for Community and External Affairs of the University of Chicago Medical Center. --wikipedia

Not only that, she is beloved by Democrats, they would come out in droves, just like they did for Barack.

I mean, what qualifications did Trump have? Not only did he have no qualifications, once in office, he refused to even learn about the job.

Biden is too old and Michelle is too polarizing. We need moderate voices who compel the 50% of us who hate both the donkey and the elephant.

There are an awful lot of great orators ( your perception, I see her as adequate) that graduated from Harvard and Princeton that would be lousy Presidential candidates. That is hardly a sterling resume to be President. If you want her as your VP candidate have at it. I think that would be a ridiculously risky choice for Democrats, and as such, I would be happy to see this as their selection.

Since you brought up Trump, what he did have when he won the nomination was the proven ability to get into the political arena, beat a highly qualified pack of candidates, and emerge with a large and loyal following. In other words, he earned it by winning, he was given absolutely nothing. If that had not occurred and he did not beat that pack of candidates, there is no way that I would have advocated adding him to the ticket in July during the midst of a Presidential election just because I had a "gut feeling" about him maybe being a skilled politician, which is what you are advocating for Michelle. If he had not already been in the race for a year, and I had not seen his political success with my own two eyes, I would have never assumed that Trump would have been a successful candidate, which is what you are advocating for Michelle.

In truth, I don't think that the powers that be in the Democrat party would ever be so foolhardy as to attach their fortunes to a political neophyte that had literally won or proven nothing and had never faced serious opposition to any of their thoughts. To make selecting a true political neophyte that has proven nothing even riskier, you also have an 80 something President that is cognitively questionable and it is very easy to see the very real potential for the Vice President to have to take over as President.

In truth, I dont think there is any chance that they would honestly do that. I believe this is just fodder for adoring Democrats to fantasize about their beloved Obama, and it has zero chance of actually occurring. I can only hope that I am wrong. By all means, you folks should listen to your gut and do this!

True. We didn't deserve Trump. We need somebody who has lived for 8 years the experience of the hardships of the presidency, somebody with a REAL college degree and who is intelligent and intimately understands the nation's problems. Which describes Michelle Obama but, unfortunately, she is too qualified to waste her time in a political campaign.

lol, she isn’t qualified at all. She knows how to stand next to a guy who made decisions which is close enough for you I guess. Not for the rest of us.
