there are a lot of grey areas in the tax code, that is for sure. But to give you an instance, a deduction for one company can be legal under IRC 162 but not legal in another company in another industry. That is why it is based on "facts and circumstances" and what is "ordinary and necessary."

It gets extremely complicated with IRC 469 with passive activity losses, 166 and 167 for depreciation, and a whole bunch of other codes.

No but here again and I'll try to help out

And when was he charged with violating the tax code?

Did the Attorney for the Lower District of Manhatten charge him with violating the tax code before dropping his investigation?

Did the New York AG when she she filed against the company charge him with violating the tax code in her issuing her indictments?

And BTW that was for the Trump Co. tax returns which were the responsibility of the CFO Weissleberg and he committed fraud on them not Trump nor Trump's personal tax returns which are the subject HERE.

    Oh my God.

    Is this the spin now?

He carried forward losses, totally within the tax laws.

Sidenote: Compare favorable tax code provisions written to benefit the rich to legislation in California, for example, to benefit certain skin colors.

This thread is quite the nothingburger. Trump followed the rules of tax code in his returns yet Trump is guilty 'cause Trump paid no taxes.
Why don't we compare the inequity of the federal tax code to the inequity of the, for example, California code which benefits certain skin colors and punishes other skin colors?

If you want a legitimate discussion about the inequity of tax codes, we can have that discussion but to morph that discussion into a "Trump is a tax cheat' discussion when Trump followed tax code provisions is ludicrous.

It is your neo-communist right to indict the tax shelter system but to imply Trump is a tax cheat is, well, politically motivated at best (and I won't offer the worst motivation for your argument, er, thread).

So to be clear, you are ok with biden letting over 2 million illegals into our country at the taxpayers expense, (I won’t even mention the atrocities that have been reported happening to women and children on their way here), however you are not ok with this report that claims President Trump paid no taxes in 2020?
I read somewhere here that you are a parent, and you being ok with what biden does really scares the s*** outa me.

My God man, do you even find happiness in life anymore?? Go for a run, spend time with your family, but please put the phone or whatever device you use down for a few days and relax.

The sky is not falling because President Trump is still alive, no matter what the current corrupt political leaders have told you.

Seriously though, there’s really no need to be so angry at the world.

I understand. I am a real estate investor and multi business owner who plays by the book. The hard thing, for me anyway is my customers have to pay higher prices and my tenets have to pay more rent.
Wasn’t like that prior to 2021.

Only because at the minimum 2 million have successfully crossed the border and have been located to cities since biden has took office.

While we are on the subject, do you really expect any sane businessman to not hire the illegals that the corrupt political leaders of this country let in and give a free ride to?

The corrupt politicians let them in, pay their expenses with your tax dollars, then tell the hardworking, taxpaying citizens, DON’T YOU DARE HIRE THEM OR YOU WILL FACE SERIOUS CONSEQUENCES!!

Your corrupt political leaders allow illegals into our country at our expense and what are the honest taxpaying citizens supposed to do, not hire them? Ignore them?

What is your solution to a problem your corrupt leaders have caused?

Keep in mind that I am against BOTH corrupt parties, however I did and do support President Trump because he is not a politician but a businessman.

Of course they work for profit. Nobody works for free. The difference is that FOX makes its profits by having a huge viewing audience looking for truth and MSNBC and CNN make their money through the fees they charge the DNC for writing their scripts.

I'd call it neo-communist propaganda but let's face it most liberals or progressives in the US are neo-communists.
And being moderately far left still places you in far-left field.

Why don't you start a thread on the dangers of capitalism on anther thread? That new thread I suggest wouldn't be related to this thread.

So you think someone should have to pay taxes on a 4.8 million dollar loss? What is wrong with you? If that’s not a cynical view I don’t know what is. Should the homeless with zero income have to pay taxes too?

It appears some get their "facts" from the echo chamber and as we both know, some just make it up, toss it at the wall and hope it sticks.

It shows exactly what reasonable people have been saying about this attempt to get his tax returns. That selective numbers would be leaked or released out of any context and then hair on fire hyperbole about him being some kind of cheat and a liar and blah blah blah because people don't know how to read them or know the tax codes. That was why the Dems and MSM wanted them not they they really tell you anything we don't already know or have a need to know.

:twocents: I thought, in Trump’s first run for President the demand from his opposition for him to release his taxes was based on their hope to use them as a weapon to take him out of the running. Now that his opposition has them that hope continues. Based on all the negative chatter on this thread and his opposition’s negative misuse of his taxes has confirmed that thought for me.

My thread is THREAD, er, the best post on this thread. Trump didn't break any laws with his tax returns and if you want to complain about the tax system, tax shelters in particular, do it on another thread. Don't post your complaints about the tax shelter system in this thread because your complaints about tax shelters, for example, are off topic to this thread. Figure it out, just once.

Blatant in-your-face breaking the law by disclosing identifiable tax information. Though maybe they will have a credible defense of not really disclosing tax information because they made it up -- wink, wink.
