1) There is no way it can be proved that she did not consent if there is no other evidence. 2) Many men are in fact convicted on the accuser's testimony alone. 3) Most Progressives believe that some innocent men must be sacrificed for justice to prevail.
That would mean convicting someone of a crime based on 50% likelihood that they have committed the crime. That may seem unethical, but most Progressives believe that sacrificing innocent people is justified for the Greater Good.
That is a valid point, but I think there are some special reasons why a woman's allegations in a rape case should be more scrutinized. Rape tends to be a much more serious crime than most other crimes that a man might be accused of. There is murder, but to falsely accuse a man of murder the woman actually has to murder somebody, and if the act is discovered she will get the harshest of punishments. It's probably a lot more likely that a man would get falsely accused by another witness of rape than of murder. A lot of women can feel violated or "raped" by a sexual encounter after the fact. That is how many men get wrongfully accused. This would probably be a separate long discussion. They choose to accuse him of rape because that is the crime closest to what they feel he did to them, even though what he actually did was not rape and was not illegal.
Why "more scrutinized" ? .....because it's a woman and I know what low regard you hold women in ? Why TF should it be handled any differently than any other accusation against anyone???
