My "assumptions," had no effect on the main idea of this thread. They were, in fact, not so much assumptions, about you, specifically, as depictions of what I would consider the hypocrisy of the average person, sharing your opinion, that the J6 Committee's work was all some partisan farce, and that Tucker Carlson will now reveal the truth. That you might hold these opinions, but not fit the same mold as the others, is the "petty issue," upon which you are focusing. I am asking you, to back up your own declarations, which I'd quoted for you. That is the thing, from which you now quail, claiming a lack of interest.
That is only so, if the answer is what I expect it to be. Namely, despite your asserting, when it comes to whatever kind of misleading, selectively edited portrayal, Tucker Carlson should try to sell the country-- Overitall said: ↑ We should never be reluctant to gain knowledge about events. It's part of our history -- I strongly suspect this was not the attitude you demonstrated, regarding the J6 hearings. If I am, however, honestly mistaken about that, then I would be interested in learning it; so what seems my statement, would then double for a sincere question.
They violated the principle of independent journalism and the public trust. They will get their chance to spin the truth after it is out there in the public sphere.
If other media organizations do their job they will pick up on what Fox is showing and report on it themselves. It's part of journalism for one organization to get the "scoop" first (it's what they compete for) and then other organizations will pick up on it. If you're not able to watch any video on other networks it's only because they don't want to report it. Your complaints are not reasonable.
How many times have news organizations referred to AP for their source? It does indeed work as I described.
government releases of documents to the public, should be to the public, not one person that is not even really a news person
We didn't gain knowledge, since it was given exclusively to FOX. Whatever you will eventually see is what Tucker Carson wants you to see, which almost certainly going to be a heavily edited version.
Then the other news organizations should be reporting on what Fox is showing. That's their job -- to report the news. Don't you think they watch Fox very closely?
It's not uncommon for news organizations to get first dibs on news. CNN is nortious for getting it's news from anonymous sources in the government.
They should report what FOX is showing? What does that even mean? FOX is the only entity in possession of the videos, so no one else can verify them, or how much FOX edits them. God knows what they choose to hide.
I'm not going to bother educating you on how news is distributed other than to simply point out that some news organizations get the scoop on news first and other organizations follow up on what the first organization reports. ETA: How much editing do you think the kangaroo court did?
I am asking you to think about what you say for a minute. Whatever FOX decides to reveal is not necessarily news, its FOX take on it, and other outlets would be foolish to assume its the truth ans report it as such. If they wanted people to know the truth, they would have released the videos to the public, not just one partisan news station. Personally I don't care because there are hours of footage already available to everyone.
That’s the key. He made promise to some GOP member who voted for speakership. Without releasing them he wouldn’t be speaker anymore. Some right wing GOP thinks Tucker Carlson’ staff will go thru all the video and find “BLM member attacking congress, some Marxist communist Democrats attacking congress” and those video will show Trump had nothing to do with J6. I am sure Tucker will find a way to blame BLM. MAGA supporter then can point finger to Liberals and Democrats. That’s fine. But even after all that, the truth will be same. Truth is millions of Americans saw live video how MAGA people went to congress and attacked congress. No altered, cut and paste video in “ Tucker Carlson show” will change that! At the end majority American blame Trump and Trump supporter for J6. That will not change at all. But this will be entertaining. Democrats in Senate has the same footage. Tucker release a video, Democrat will release 10 more. next 2 years we will get to see more and more J6 video. Sometimes it feels like GOP has no interest winning election. The more J6 video out there the more support they lose. But that doesn’t bother them. Their objective is stick it to LIBS.
The Democrat's had plenty of time and opportunity to release the exact same video that McCarthy released to Tucker. What stopped them from doing so?
I think you are misunderstanding me. I welcome the video footage. This is good for Democrats. I just wonder if you know if these footage are bad for GOP.
Because Tucker might do what he's done with previous footage: selectively edit it and misrepresent it to hide the violence and spread lunatic conspiracy theories.
