The Capitol Police and overseers Pelosi and ilk were responsible for security at the Capitol... they did not have nearly enough CP to do the job they were tasked with... security at the Capitol... they failed at their job... no excuse... January 6 should not have been allowed to happen, but due to lack security after forewarning and the guard authorized by Trump, it did happen...

 

There's absolutely no doubt that had the Capitol Police had the backup they requested and needed, the rioters would never had gotten past the barricades. But there's those damn "OPTICS" which had to be considered and those responsible for the security of the Capitol didn't like the "OPTICS" of having more LEO on the premises.

Not with absolute certainty, but police officers are not timid little woodland creatures inclined to fall over and die the day after a stressful confrontation.

 

All the Capitol Police and overseers Pelosi and ilk had to do is provide adequate security after the forewarning and the guards being authorized... How strange Pelosi herself said she knew that trespassing on the Capitol was going to happen.... and she did not take action with that knowledge?
Pelosi literally said she "I've been waiting for this. trespassing on Capitol grounds" during her strange photo shoot by her daughter.... that is a very odd comment for someone who did not take actions to prevent it....

Yea, that was the oddest thing they did. It's the equivalent of Pelosi shooting herself in the foot. Showing that they could have had the same security in place before Jan. 6th. They just didn't like the optics of it until after the Intel that a riot may happen did happen. It's like they wanted it to happen so they could say Trump incited an "insurrection" effectively keeping him away from any government position.

 

That prayer for "love" and "harmony" must have been the last straw for the judge.

 

Do you think them not being there on January 6 had something to do with them being there on the 7th after the security was inadequate after the CP and overseers Pelosi and ilk failed in their job to provide the needed security that day?

 

Does it really matter what we would have said? The Capitol would have been secured. That's all that matters.

 

But I thought it was supposed to be a peaceful protest? Is this the standard you want for protests now? You want the national guard deployed at all protests?

 

"Not with absolute certainty" is the only reason no one is on trial for their deaths. Yet one officer develops a lethal heart condition hours after being hit with bear spray and another commits suicide the first day back after recovering from an injury. Three others also committed suicide but took a little longer. Can you honestly say nope, no connection?

 

If more of them would have been involved during the riots of 2020 the clear message would have been sent that riots will never be acceptable. So yes, more NG should be utilized to stop the senseless rioting.

 

Quite the police state you advocate for. A bunch of senior citizens gather at an intersection the next town over from me every so often protesting guns. Someone should alert the national guard next time in case it gets out of hand.

 

I don't see you complaining about the security that was put in place AFTER the 1/6 riot.

You're following the lead of Pelosi. React after the fact. You never complained about the security posted on 1/7 until AFTER I brought it up.

 

It is virtual certain that J6 was not the cause of death. Cops, like soldiers are very prone to suicide now.
It is a bad job characterized by low moral and incompetent management.
