    ....

It seems Pelosi had a problem with the optics of military at "public gatherings", like at the Portland riot.... err..... "gathering".... "stormtroopers" seems to be a term she have used...

I didn't realize I owned you a reaction to everything. I will make sure to let you know how I react to every issue from this point forward.

Or the Capitol Police could have just displayed the same level of competence displayed by the relatively tiny Beverly Hill's PD when rioters got a little too frisky near the Rich and Famous. A few foam ball blasts and the dreaded AntiFa hooded assault troops were dispersed and peace was restored. Riot control is not rocket science.

Bike racks! Who is the idiot that decided to deploy bike racks?

Doesn't sound like the sort of weak folks that should be on the front lines to me! I guess mother nature and natural selection intervened.

You're not getting the bigger picture. If more enforcement was employed to quash riots, less riots may take place. The way to stop crime is not to ignore it.

LOL! Read again. The Beverly Hills PD can handle these problems -- if the USG can still afford to hire them.

"The group barely got a chance to wake anybody up before Beverly Hills police met the group on North Alpine Drive around 11 p.m. and declared the group an unlawful assembly. ... The roughly 50 protesters remained, chanting, "Whose streets? Our streets!" and taking a knee. The police warned that they were about to use a Long Range Acoustic Device, a sonic weapon used for crowd control, Los Angeles Magazine reported. The crowd began to back up, but the police used the LRAD twice, the publication said.

As video footage posted to Twitter shows, plumes of smoke were followed by loud noises. Moments later, the police began shooting a barrage of tear gas canisters and sponge bullets. Los Angeles Magazine reported that the bullets ricocheted off street signs, broke nearby glass and hit protesters. One man fell, and people in the crowd cried out for a medic."

I get it. You're for a police state. The place the senior citizens protest at is Acton, MA. You should probably alert the national guard.

Yes, but just a Beverly Hills Police State -- not a smidge more -- unless the rioters deploy RPGs. ;-)

In the event of a violent outbreak sure. But that's different than what you said earlier when you stated you were ok with military being used at all protests.

Nah, you're not getting it. I'm all for stopping blatant crime -- like riots. If it takes more LEO to stop that then by all means the more the better. Don't you want riots to stop?

You're not getting it. There was no way to know riots will break out at any given protest. No one knew the rioting that took place at the Capitol was going to happen. Therefore, you seem to want to have military at all protests just in case.

the rioters on January 6th should be thankful the US military did not respond until after the actual riot

had the military been there , can you imagine what a trained military force would have done to disperse the crowd??

    hundreds would have been killed..

unlike other countries...the US does not use Military forces against its own citizens

Or, just let the local cops use known non lethal riot control techniques, like LRAD and sponge balls, to stop riots -- instantly.

Or just fly in the BHPD and let them handle it!

Remember: "One Riot, One Ranger". Or One Beverly Hills Cop. :)

I'm all for stopping riots when they happen. I'm not for having this country turn into a police state where the guard is deployed at all protests.
