With the lack of purple states politically, that is painfully obvious for obvious reasons. Too many people follow like sheep on the shinest object they see and go right after it, consequences be damned. It is why we are seeing an influx of very stupid bills that realistically don't do much, but they sure as hell get the base riled up. Take the election lies, or in SC to put the DP for those who have abortions, or for those who want no mail in ballots, or for those who want to put vigilantism on the menu in order to "control the border" and even secession even though that is not legally possible.

 

Seems like this needs to be spelled out for some people here even though this should be common knowledge, but you don't get to break into any building, much less a federal one and think there'll be no consequences. Especially one in DC in broad daylight. It doesn't work like that.

 

Dude no one in authority wanted to find any. It was an entirely outsider effort that was stone walled and discredited and blocked at every opportunity starting under Obama in 2014.

IQ is not the only thing that is declining. Moral values are declining. Self-respect is in a crash-dive. Pride in your nation is approaching self-immolation.

A winning team needs good players, and the name of the game doesn't change that. Baseball, politics, social conditions- nothing good comes from putting incompetence, inclusiveness and a half-dozen other things above meritocracy and character- but that is what is happening in America right now. If you don't raise kids with the right stuff- you will have a population heavy on adults that lack the right stuff.

My issue here is that the lack of character, honesty and all that is not a new thing, in fact I don't really think there's ever been a time in our history where moral values were super high, and damn sure not to the point where we were actually the pinnacle of ethics and integrity. We may question our current generation but all the past generations have just as many skeletons in their closet.

 

What skeletons would that be? Back then they were kept firmly in the closet these days we parade them about like they were medals of honor. We stick people with obvious mental health issues in charge of government offices and then wonder why the wheels are coming off the train.

 

Racial segregation and heavy drug use are huge ones.

As I said- that has always been true; It's a matter of how common it is that changes it's impact on society. The fact that this always exists to some degree is certainly no reason to say it's acceptable- and that is much of what is happening right now.

There's a simple way to assess that, and it's the conduct that is tolerated without consequence. If you want a metric- try crime. There's dozens, but that one is widely documented.
Cities are loosing their businesses and their best taxpayers because crime is making their cities unsafe to live in, unprofitable for business to survive in.
