Wasn’t my thread but I may have participated. If I did it was likely to point out cognitive decline is a well known result of most viral infections including head colds. Cognitive decline has been observed months after head cold infections as well as confirmed influenza infection.

There is some pre-print research out now showing “long” Covid may be less common than “long” influenza” etc. We shall see.

There may be a short period of more cognitive decline than we see on average due to Covid. But we’ve been suffering “cognitive decline” as a species from viral infections since…well…millions of years and so far they say we have improved cognitively on average over those millions of years.

Perhaps now that we reward stupidity instead of allowing natural selection to work on the human population to the extent it once did we actually ARE declining cognitively as a species from viral infections. Something interesting to think about for those of us still possessing the ability.

For one, he's a washed-up celebrity with no business being in charge of a country let alone any political office whatsoever. Aside from that,his personality is awful, there's also him inciting the Jan. 6th insurrection, colluding with Russia, crying foul about hiding his tax records despite previously bashing Obama about his birth certificate, anything and everything involving Mar-A-Lago, actually signing a treaty with the Taliban which eventually led to them re-taking over in the first place, called climate a change and pulled out of the Paris Agreement, not taking the COVID-19 spread seriously when it first happened, among so many other things.

Not to mention his wonderful "grab 'em by the *****" comment, which he somehow survived, despite knowing full well that any other president or candidate would've had their career nuked on the spot. Double points for still fighting battles against a pornstar. To put it simply, he's a memorable geriatic tomato for all the wrong reasons.

 

His two older sons would be worse. His oldest daughter is debatable.

Presidents sure do control gas prices... when they stop pipelines, stop issuing drilling licenses for public lands, discourage fracking and increase taxes (royalties) on oil produced from wells on public lands. That increase domestic prices through he roof.

A disorganized, unarmed mob occupying ONE BUILDING for a few hours isn't an insurrection. Its not even a very good protest. An insurrection would require taking control of transportation hubs, communications centers, police and military facilities and so much more. Hundreds of folks would have to be standing by to take over jobs from the White House to the CIA to the Pentagon to state governor offices and more. If Jan 6 actually was an insurrection, then we must have the weakest government in he history of man.

The Russian "Collusion Delusion" was debunked long ago. There was no conviction of Trump for anything. Oh... you don't need law, courts and juries.... you just need to say he's guilty. None of that bother with "Innocent until PROVEN Guilty in a Court of Law" stuff... huh? No need for that stuff... It was Hillary that first started the controversy about Obama's birth certificate, not Trump. Trump is a US citizen. His taxes are as private as yours are. Trump's plan with the Taliban ended when the Taliban refused to enact the required ceasefire with the Afghan government. That ended it. Period.

Trump didn't support Gorebull warming. Many Americans don't. Trump got the China Virus vax to us in record time... forcing it through FDA approval in time for Biden to get vaxxed before he took office. Who cares about a porn star? Are you jealous or something?

 

Trump is a good choice... but we need someone younger... like DeSantis.

 

Thomas Sowell has done quite a bit of writing backed with research on IQ disparity between peoples...and he believes and I agree...that it boils down to culture. One telling fact in history was the disparity of IQ points between white Northerners and white Southerners back in the 1800's and early 1900's. That descepancy isn't there now as the backwoods southern culture has changed.

I know that poor children brought up by single parents in tough gang ridden environments don't get the nurturing and mental stimulation during the early years of 0-5 that a child might get in a stable environment with a mom and Dad that values education. Some parents read to their children. Some don't. Even that can affect IQ.

I would say that our over all culture is losing its ability to help kids reach their potential.

 

This is nothing to worry about! The left will at some point make it OK for us to identify our IQ as any number we wish and anyone who disagrees with the lie gets thrown in jail

Trump has a big mouth but that has no effect on my family one way or the other. Gas prices do, savings do, grocery prices do, peace does, nuke threats do... and these things THAT COUNT... were soooooo much better under Trump.

 

Was that a theory developed by the same people wearing the same mask that hung from their rear view mirror all summer while they were driving alone to a cat appointment?
