Some could see it that way. Others might have just preferred to let Russia take Ukraine, with the view that Ukraine was practically almost like a part of Russia anyway, under the former Soviet Union and for much of history before that.
It's not like Ukraine had a fully healthy and fully free democracy either (though more open than Russia), and the country's political corruption level was even higher than in Russia.

I mean, there's definitely a compelling argument for the U.S. to defend Ukraine, but it wasn't an absolute and fully completely obvious and incontrovertible argument. Especially for Democrats in the U.S.

Why? The bottom line when it comes to the laptop is that it is “tainted evidence”. It would not hold up in court due to the questionable chain of evidence - plus what is actually on the fugging thing? Everyone and his dog has dug into it and found?????

But the bottom line is - no one was voting for Hunter and these days nearly everyone has a member of the family struggling with addiction. Biden’s clear compassion and care for his son does not show him in a poor light with an awful lot of people in the same boat

 

It would not stop a prosecution against a normal suspect.

But since this case is so politically sensitive (for obvious reasons), they want to be much more cautious and hesitant to do anything that may not be fair.
For the same exact reason people should be hesitant to believe any claim of rape made against Trump. (There's a clear strong motive to falsify evidence)

 

What the experts found

In their examinations, Green and Williams found evidence that people other than Hunter Biden had accessed the drive and written files to it, both before and after the initial stories in the New York Post and long after the laptop itself had been turned over to the FBI.


Maxey had alerted The Washington Post to this issue in advance, saying that others had accessed the data to examine its contents and make copies of files. But the lack of what experts call a “clean chain of custody” undermined Green’s and Williams’s ability to determine the authenticity of most of the drive’s contents.


“The drive is a mess,” Green said.

Williams also found records on the drive that indicated someone may have accessed the drive from a West Coast location in October 2020, little more than a week after the first New York Post stories on Hunter Biden’s laptop appeared.

Over the next few days, somebody created three additional folders on the drive, titled, “Mail,” “Salacious Pics Package” and “Big Guy File” — an apparent reference to Joe Biden.

Why the hell are you citing an opinion piece to speak for you?

The FD-1023 form (before the FBI redacted it) says otherwise. The part they redacted contained the information relative to the tapes. Take YOUR best shot as to why that needed protection from the eyes of the public seeing it.

 

FBI didn’t investigate Biden because Trump appointed MAGA supporter , Life long republican Chriss Wray to suppress anything to do with Biden. Trump told Wray not to investigate Biden. That’s why FBI kept all Biden crime hush hush.

 

So a politician says that an anonymous source has this information. If he really does have it, then he should release it. But I'm not going to go with a politician citing and anonymous source until the actual evidence comes out.
