Why are Trump supporters silent when it comes to Trump?

If I start a thread talking about how I disliked his banning of bump stocks because it was Draconian and pointless. Nobody will talk about. The orange man bread crowd will just do their standard orange man bad nonsense which at this point I just completely tune it out. Or they'll start talking about why we needed the band bunk stocks and how that was good that Trump did that.

The reason why there is not a thread of trump supporters criticizing Trump and I have a few things I would criticize him on is because we don't do that here it can't be civil.

So until people quit ripping your hair out bouncing around like Daffy duck at the mere mention of his name calm down quit telling me all these things he said that I don't care about, it can't be discussed.

I can think of one or two things Obama did that I like. And this is how people are the same regardless of what side they fall on. If I point out that I liked the way Obama abandoned his reduction of energy toward the end of his presidency I'll just get crap about birth certificates and that's the same thing as the orange man bad people. It's tired it's pointless everyone's heard it and only the people that care will ever care

I think one must acknowledge that pro-Trumpers will vote for him and anti-Trumpers against him no matter what. That since we’ve entered today’s modern political era of polarization, the great divide, the super, mega, ultra-high partisanship, someone like Trump was bound to happen. I think there’s one big reason for this. Why we’re in today’s modern political era, why Trump still has a load of support.


Could Trump win in 2024 despite what you think of him? Yes, he could. If you’re going by today’s polls, Trump and Biden are in a basic tie, considering the MOE of plus or minus 3 points.

Maybe one should be asking the question, why is this? The Republican Party’s base makes up no more than 30% of the total electorate. Yet the polls are showing Trump at 44%. Trump must be getting support from more than Trumpers or his avid MAGA followers. That support must come from those non-affiliated, the less to non-partisan group we identify as swing voters or independents. The one’s for the most part that aren’t hardcore pro or anti Trump, although most of them dislike Trump, the man, the person, the individual. There’s a reason for this also. Why they would consider voting for a man they dislike.


Which leaves me longing for the pre-modern political era days. When politics made much more sense. Trumpers may be silent and remain silent on all his legal problems. To them, Trump’s legal problem is a Democratic Party political vendetta against him. But their loyalty to and support of the man will remain firm. Those others, those non-affiliated, less to non-partisans will also remain silent. They’re not going to shout and holler their political views or how they view the current state of this nation’s politics from the top of the mountain. Ranting, raving, hollering and shouting are left to the hardcore ideologues and partisans. They’ll silently go into the voting booth and vote. For who? Only they know although the polls can give us an idea. A rough, ballpark figure.

 

Trump is so over-analyzed he gets in trouble for stuff he didn't do (Fine, that 50 year old woman he allegedly raped in public "froze" and didn't make a peep while he raped her. He would have had to known she wouldn't make a peep, which just isn't credible.) while Biden has the intelligence community and corporate media covering up what he actually does do. The guy should have been impeached and convicted. That they'll cover for him makes him much more dangerous than a guy that made mean tweets.

That anything is finally coming to light (of course the laptop was real. Biden took millions from foreign powers. Without Trump's authority, he took secret documents as a US Senator and then as VP and so much more) I think maybe someone signaling him to not run again in 2024 but that nothing has been done tells me, the Democrats just don't have an option. They'll do what they can to get him re elected, then let him retire a month or so into office and we'll have cackles as POTUS.

 

I understand that being a left-leaning independent can appear extreme right from the point of view of the extreme left. I get called a liberal in other threads.

Trump is an awful person and should have never been elected in the first place. His support is the result of results the other party is producing. Both parties are thieves. Dems just steal a bit more. That makes him the lesser of evils.
