So, Ray Epps is suing Carlson and Fox over their multiply repeated lies about Epps being the motivator behind the Jan 6 insurrection. https://www.axios.com/2023/07/12/ray-epps-sues-fox-news-defamation-jan-6 But, how come this is limited to Fox and Carlson? Ted Cruz also made a national incident in public meetings promoting this lie, too. For one Cruz assault on Epps see: Cruz starts 3:12 into this story on the right wing assault on Epps. Are senators actually immune from responsibility for promoting direct assaults on individual citizens using lies and falsehoods of their own and others?
I had several discussions on this board aboit Epps. Eventually the truth comes out, usually not on the side of Trumpers. They heve been brain washed, but even the intelligent ones don't catch on. I'm convinced they don't want to. The power of the internet on display.
Yeah, Epps is the totally innocent guy seen on numerous videos urging people to rush the Capitol, and as a totally harmless guy with no bad intentions, he somehow has the money and pull to hire a high powered and very expensive Clintonista as his lawyer, the kind of lawyer who would never take a poor schlub’s case if he wasn’t some how connected.
LOTS of lawyers would be willing to take this case on contingency after the $800 million dollar win against Fox earlier this year. Don't kid yourself. And nobody is calling this dick a "good" guy. He's a MAGA piece of work who probably belongs in jail and he has been notified by the DOJ of impending charges.
No, the question is how easy is it for a lawyer willing to put his ethics in his back pocket by working with the Clintons to chase the next ambulance and work with another questionable character? It's all about the money. And this lawyer smells lots of money on the table.
Ted Cruz is not a deep pocket.... If Epps didn't go after Carlson (he's not a defendant in the lawsuit, BTW), he's certainly not going to waste his time watching Rafael run to whatever court he can find to argue "Senatorial Privilege"
Wait. I thought all the January 6 rioters were innocent. This one is guilty? Why this one and not the one who was shot and killed while climbing a barricade to get to the house chamber?
How anyone can take Ted Cruz seriously never ceases to amaze.......same with Tucker. The spectacle is the point.
Just because you aren't innocent don't mean you deserve the death penalty without a trial. There were a lot of people who tresspased who are entitled to a speedy trial and didn't get it. And there were just ignorant innocent people following the crowd who were let in by the police.
It can under certain circumstances. Since we know the way MAGA feels about the FBI, it could (and did) put lives in danger. And Tucker and Fox obviously knew that too, from their earlier pushing of the false concept that the Russia investigation wasn't properly predicated under the FBI counterintelligence mission.
It is illegal. https://www.legalmatch.com/law-library/article/impersonating-a-federal-agent-penalty.html
If people were charged with crimes for merely being on the lawn, then how did this guy escape Garland's wrath? Wait, he didn't, he's now being charged with a crime. https://twitter.com/charliekirk11/s...lawsuit-against-fox-news-over-jan-6-reporting
I'm not aware of anyone being charged for simply being on the lawn. If you went inside, that's a different story.
That could be a fair argument. However recent evidence shows that he isn't suing for being called an FBI agent. He is suing for the claim that he did what he was seen on tape doing. @Julie_kelly2
Well it is senseless to accuse someone of being an FBI agent when their not, unless they are in a drug deal and trying to get that guy killed.
