If you go to this site you will see how they cataloged all the death, doom and destruction predictions made by the global warming alarmists going back to 1970. If you scroll down you will come to events that were predicted by a certain date, that date has passed and we’re all still here. In fact, not one prediction has come true.

If we held these alarmist prophets to the same standards as the ancient hebrews most of them would be dead.

Pity that so many do confuse bad journalism with good science

No it is about bad journalism reporting what they think science says.

The global warming movement is an excuse for socialism with scientific trappings.

Sometimes, it is hard to distinguish the difference between climate alarmists and the crazy folks standing on soap boxes on sidewalk corners screaming the end is nigh.... Perhaps it's just performance art... so hard to tell these days...

Most common sense people know these gloom and doom predictions by egghead experts are bogus. Now we got Gore and Kerry running around trying to scare everyone while they rake in tons of money and get exalted in the media. As I like to say, “Rave on cat s**t. Somebody’ll come cover you up.”

Agreed. And, the so-called bad journalism is a result of the MSM promoting the left’s agenda. Hence, I can’t argue with the bad journalism comments.

I hear ya. The post you quoted just reminded me of some not so good times in a religious section of another site.

Does the OP suggest that you predict a series of events that will cause an extinction event to be carried out within 40 years? Some creatures are just not adapted to water temperatures above 40 C. If high water temps persist and continue to rise ......some creatures are done. At least in the hot areas. It is like being held to a prophecy that self fulfills itself in no time.It takes time for things to happen. Say again, it takes time for things to happen.

What if I were to tell you that the American Bison would be extinct by 1900 if the current rate of Bison kills continued? ............,..... in 1883..........? The prediction was true. Mankind stopped killing so many Bison.

So if I say the Milky Way galaxy will crash into Andromeda tomorrow and tomorrow comes and it hasn’t happened, I still get credit for being right in the sense that the event will still happen it “just takes time”?

People who make dire predictions about disasters should be able to predict the winning lottery numbers, every day. Then I would become a believer. Making dire predictions 10 to 20 years down the road can get you the attention you crave. Even get you some followers. That's all some want. Then they feel important. But when their predictions fail to materialize you have to look in the tall grass to find them.

Well this may be a meme that sounds smart to you, but is really stupid.

Journalism is the path that we get these concepts from. You can hardly argue that we should trust the science when the filter that we're getting the science is from journalism; specifically bad journalism.

There is quite a history on this forum of pro hysteria types supporting the bad journalism that makes it difficult for an honest broker to take their proclamations seriously.

Show us all the right predictions made and let's compare.

Trouble with that is no one has really done anything since they first strated firing the latest version of Malthusianist hype and it still hasn't come true

I'm just picking this one at random.

Well, it is true that the Arctic is quite ice-free compared to history, so much so that cargo companies are mapping out new routes available because of the lack of ice. And yes, as the permafrost melts, methane is being released.

That's the most likely cause of these mysterious holes appearing across the Russian tundra.

Some of the things you might like to research is how the Finger Lakes in NY were formed, how huge boulders made their way to NYC’s Central Park, and the Wisconsin glacier.
