Send the failed prediction list to the little imp Gretta Thunberg, arrogant John Kerry, and pompous Al Gore. They are all following in the footsteps of self-conceited Jean Dixon, who was doing annual predictions and might get one or two correct each year. But it gave her notoriety and a nice lifestyle. These types will always be among us.

Nope! Basically most of the worst has been from Faux and the paid fossil fuel industry shills. Many of whom have created a false narrative of “gloom and doom” in order to debunk it

Yes and guess who else has researched this? The very scientists YOU claim do not know what they are talking about. Now this is a dichotomy for you

Who is correct - the scientists who found out about how those finger lakes firmed or the scientists who are warning about the effects of climate change? Hint it is often the SAME SCIENTISTS!!

Which ones? The ones that said we have another thirty years before reaching the tipping points we are seeing or the ones Faux News tells you?

I said “bad” journalism. Good science journalism such as is found in magazines like “scientific American” I am betting are not included in the link and those that are have a lot of caveats such as “could” maybe” and possibly” but astroturf sites like the one linked to use those to scream “science was wrong!!”

The Finger Lakes were carved out of the ground by glaciers. The boulders in Central Park were carried there by glaciers. The Wisconsin glacier once covered much of North America. Those glaciers vanished and it wasn't because of fossil fuels.

No, they're different scientists from different eras. During one era scientists received grants to find the truth, in a different era scientists only receive grants to validate what the grant giver wants.

So your whole argument is that since climate change happens without human intervention that somehow means that humans can't affect climate.

Going down the path of science journals is avoiding the topic. Since the public at large has to vote on these decisions on what exactly to do about climate change, if anything, and how much money to spend to do it, you need to aim at how they are getting the message. Newspapers, TV, "activists" (like Al Gore, Leonardo DiCaprio, and of course the 21st Century Joan de Arc, Greta Thunberg), and speaking of Al Gore, how did the predictions of An Inconvenient Truth do?

The way that the public is getting their climate change news is absolutely "bad journalism."

Not the way the left is selling it. We've been banning/restricting/regulating things that use fossil fuels for years, what improvements to the climate occurred?

The biggest climate-denier corporation was the Koch Brothers (one of whom died within the past year). The problem, even for me, is that Koch Industries has been a rather large donor to PBS. Even though they deny climate science, they spread their money around in a way that makes it difficult for the average layman to figure out unless you do research. They do this as some kind of strategy, and it has been effective for them. I don't know where they stand today, but they laid the basic climate-denier arguments that are still circulating among the Rubes.

Who is denying that it is changing? Of course it is changing and it is at partially responsible for the greening of the planet and the exponential increase in crop yields. What hasn't been explained is how a phenomenon whose greatest effect appears to be an epidemic of fat overfed people across the planet is going to lead to worldwide extinction. From where I am sitting, the threat of global warming is that people will eat themselves to death. WHAT EXACTLY IS THE THREAT?!?!

First, let's look at a fact:

Just look at that, 37.12 billion metric tons! That's a lot. The underlying belief among climate deniers is that much pollution has no global effect. Where do you think that idea came from? What logic is there to that belief, other than wishful thinking?

You really think that that much pollution will stay in one place?

Where the hell did you get that idea? The lungs of our planet, the jungles of the Amazon, have been in retreat with the clearing of the jungle to make way for industry and farming at a scale that it cannot be brought back. "Greening" my ass. Deserts are what becomes of clearing so many trees.

Google is where I got that from. We have known this for decades. NASA has done studies on it. Hundreds of scientific papers have been written on it. I have commented on it numerous times on this very forum. If you are going to deny this basic fact agreed on by just about every reputable climate scientist on the planet, I am not sure we can have a productive discussion on this issue.

I never said it happens instantly. What I said is that we should be at least seeing something for decades of effort. Instead, what we’re seeing is people profiteering from global warming fear.

If you've taken the time to notice, the homes Biden and Pelosi live in do not have solar panels. One of them drives a gas guzzling Vette, which thankfully didn't burn in a fire, the other drives a gas guzzling Porshe. The elites don't make any sacrifices, but they demand and mandate that we do.
