Former President Trump said in a new interview that he could use the government to investigate his political opponents if he is reelected, suggesting it would be fair game after the Department of Justice indicted him in two separate cases earlier this year.

“If they do this, and they’ve already done it, but if they follow through on this, yeah, it could certainly happen in reverse. It could certainly happen in reverse,” Trump said in an interview with Univision. “What they’ve done is they’ve released the genie out of the box. You understand that. They’ve done something that nobody thought would happen.”

“You know, when you’re president and you’ve done a good job and you’re popular, you don’t go after them so you can win an election,” Trump continued.

“If I happen to be president, and I see somebody who’s doing well and beating me very badly, I say, ‘Go down and indict them.’ Mostly that would be, you know, they’d be out of business. They’d be out of the election,” he added.

This is exactly how a dictatorship takes root in a country.

Putin did the same thing in the early 2000s.... But now I've exited the MAGA who want the US to become a Russian-style authoritarian regime.

So we have to take Trump at his word when he says he will use every means at his disposal to jail his political opponents and muzzle the media (which he considers to be the enemies of the people).

He tried to overturn the election and the rest will be much worse.

Every non MAGA in this country knows that Trump is being sued on solid legal grounds.

    He's not a victim.

If he is President, he won’t have opponents again? This is his last chance win or lose. In 5 years he can never harm our country again.

You want him to be president so that in 5 years, he’s done? That’s some real interesting logic, there.

Like him or hate him, he's right about pandora's box opening. And this is the case in all of the EU, not just Russia. The lucrative position is not Prime Minister but chief of the judiciary. Look no further than darling Ukraine, which can't get out of its own swamp. Regardless of which side of the story you believe in, both sides involve a corrupted justice department acting on its own interests. The only difference is that depending on which side of the story you believe in, either the US blackmailed Ukraine into its actions or gave the go ahead to the Ukrainian actions(neither is a good look for the US)

And that's just one example of judicial corruption within the EU. It's noble to say "We'll prosecute politicians" until people are vested in the outcome.

If our worst outcome of prosecuting Trump for all his crimes is that we end up holding all politicians accountable for their crimes, I’d say it’s a win for the people.

just goes to show you that he never stopped being a Democrat. This is exactly what Democrats did to him.

where is your outrage about what your Democrat party did to Trump?

Trump once wanted to change the Constitution so that a POTUS could serve more than two terms.

    There's no Pandora's box.

And even if there were, it was Trump who opened it by asking Zelensky to investigate Biden.

Don't you remember? .... He was impeached for that.

Trump has known since the end of his presidency that he has committed countless crimes.

His strategy was therefore to announce his candidacy as soon as possible to make himself look like a political victim.

This was always the question - why announce so early if it meant he couldn't access (personally) all his 'donations'.

Ukraine is not part of the EU.

If you think it is, it’s difficult to take anything you say seriously.

So, when Blagojevich and Weiner were put in jail, when Cuomo was investigated by the AG, when Clinton was impeached, when Trump fans chanted "lock her up, lock her up", were those not opening a Pandora's box? I wonder why you didn't complain then, or did you join in the chants to jail Clinton? Oh, and before anyone claims I am defending criminals: Blagojevich and Weiner were rightfully put in jail.

But, the better question: Why should Trump get a pass? Shouldn't justice be equal for all?

The DOJ is not controlled by Democrats.

Some Republican elected officials voted to have Trump impeached and removed.

And the majority also voted to certify the 2020 election.

The 1/6 Commission was bipartisan and its conclusion was that Trump was criminally responsible.

And that's just one of his 4 trials.

If Trump could find a way to send Adam Schiff to jail I would be all for it. His actions divided the country and made things much worse. It made Trump even nastier and served no purpose.

Schiff wants the open California Senate seat. He’s way beyond his ability as a Congressman. At best, he’s qualified to be a dog warden for rabid dogs only.

If he gets into the Senate and displaces a MAGA/Republican rabid dog, it's a win for the country.

So you say. Anyone who follows the news knows that Merrick Garland is the most political Attorney General since a fellow named Palmer who was in the Woodrow Wilson administration. He had socialist, Eugene Debs, put in jail for opposing America’s entry into World War I. Warren Harding pardoned him.

The conduct of the Biden justice department is laced with partisan politics and very dangerous. One could post a picture of Merrick Garland, post a caption “modern fascist” under it, and be entirely correct.

Of course T is not a victim... even though he manipulates his following into believing he is.
If he is elected again. .you can take his vow to revenge his enemies literally. and watch the country deter orate into something it was never meant to be. And the blame game will continue as it is now. .only more viciously. It is astounding that so many cannot see how dangerous he is...

He has proven to be a danger to democracy. the legal system, and those that opposes him.
When ONE person has THIS MUCH influence over a large group , that seems fanatically committed to HIM , there is a problem. When ONE person is elevated above the nation/ the constitution, and the population.......there is a problem. His followers believe he can help their pocket books ......as that is where the priority exists ....as opposed to the larger issue of the status of the nation they live in.
And this does not cover his psychological issues.(narcissistic sociopathy)

There are two sad realities: Trump's lack of education and intelligence in how our legal system works AND how many Trump loyalists fall for this con.

How do you explain Garland's appointment of a special prosecutor to investigate Hunter Biden?

    Take you're time...

He was forced to do it after Hunter’s sweetheart deal fell through in court. The guy he picked had been conducting the Hunter Biden investigation for years and has allowed the statute of limitations to run out on some of Hunter’s wrongdoings. He’s from Delaware and is a Biden stooge. It remains to be seen if he does anything or just waits for the statute of limitations to pass on more of Hunter Biden’s crimes.

You will have to do better than that to prove your point about Merrick Garland.

Please do NOT BLAME the Dems. Trump created his own mess and is responsible for it. How can anyone blame a party for an individuals bad behavior??? That is really a stretch ,.....even in the world of fantasy.
