Facts? If mycoprotein is cheaper to produce, why is it $4.99 for 12 Oz. and ground beef is under $4.00 a pound (16 Oz.) at the same store? Hmmm.

If using wheat derived glucose to feed mycoprotein producing fungi is better for the environment, why is the average soil organic matter content much higher in dairy and grazing land than wheat production soils (remember wheat is the source of mycoprotein meat substitutes)?

    https://www.sare.org/publications/b...in-soils/#Organic-Matter-and-Cropping-Systems

Correctly managed beef production can be as carbon neutral as mycoprotein production (or more so) as demonstrated by studies done at White Oak Pastures, a grass fed beef (and other meats) operation.

    https://kerrcenter.com/cropland-to-pasture-banking-organic-matter-in-the-soil/

Precision Fermentation is still in experimental stages. Anyone want to guess what the feedstock is for precision fermentation? Anyone? It’s methanol that today primarily comes from NATURAL GAS. You know, that gas that is primarily METHANE that the OP wants to eliminate by getting rid of cows!

This may be the most ridiculous thread on environmental issues I’ve seen. Amazing.

The fact you believe and restate RW conspiracy theory nonsense to make a point is not valid at all.

The head of the FBI is still a trump appointee.

True right now. Not necessarily so in the future. That's the point. We are being held back from engaging in a TRUE energy revolution. And, as far as I've seen, this comes from the right. They need to get over it: we NEED to stop carbon emissions. As soon as that's clear, the green energy sector is going to boom, and costs will come down... Maybe to ZERO... I'm speculating but it is NOT a far-fetched speculation.

The government makes the initial investment. The government already spends billions a year dealing with disasters , many of which are caused (or made worse) by Global Warming. And that cost is only going to skyrocket in the next few years. Would that money not be better spent PREVENTING some of those disasters? As a side-benefit, the potential victims get to not have all their belongings lost.

The Oil industry created the myth that preventing Climate Change posed some BURDEN on average Americans. It does NOT!

Which of course matters not a damn. The swamp is the swamp the letter after their names is for all practical purposes meaningless.

Nonsense. 1st the idea that you can keep climate from changing is largely ludicrous. 2nd having to change my diet for no discernible benefit is damn well a burden.

That is meaningless. Trump made many bad appointments. He also appointed some good people who got sick and tired of his antics. One of the worst aspects about Trump is his inability to build an effective support team. Christopher Wray is a swamp creature first and a public servant second. He's part of the government "good ol boy and girl network" who takes care of themselves and their fellow swamp creatures.

You cannot stop carbon emissions. Unless you want to go back to the pre-industrialization stage of civilization? Because that is what its going to take to stop using fossil fuels. Even with the realization of fusion energy being a sure thing we are still going to need fossil fuels. It is used too much in so many things in our society to stop using it even with in 200 years unless some sort of MAJOR breakthrough occurs. And there is none on the horizon for that.

LINK: Scientists successfully replicate historic nuclear fusion breakthrough three times (msn.com)

Instead of trying to stop it completely, why not look for an equilibrium instead?

    Read the OP.

And the first time I heard about trying to get rid of cow farming was through AOC when she was pushing "The Green New Deal" garbage.

"STOP" carbon emissions? Oh oh.... I always CRINGE when i hear that word. Makes me weary that we may be sinking down the "Binary Thinking" hole.

Yep! Irrelevant to my point, though. Or to the subject of AGW. If you could make your point without the word "stop", I sense the debate would surely improve.

NO serious analyst thinks in binary terms... EVER!

Nothing in the OP says that anybody has to change their diet. If you want to pay the exorbitant price of 100% cow meat as it raises because of climate change, that's perfectly fine.

In fact, the OP provides and ALTERNTIVE that is way less expensive than cow meat.

IE: Diet change. Your argument is the equivalent of "because we eat cows for protein then anything that has protein in it to replace eating cows that is made of protein is not a diet change because either way its protein". It a false equivalency fallacy. Just because peanuts have protein in it does not mean it is the same as eating cow meat.

Blame yourself for using the word stop.

You cannot complain about me using the word "stop" when you yourself use it. I simply responded to what YOU said.

Funny how its "binary thinking" for me, but not you?

And what are the growing seasons that close to the arctic?

Depends what you're growing, but generally, not good, because its too cold.

And if you're interested in civility, I would recomend answering questions before asking others.

No it is not good because of the lack of light. This is why a lot of the arctic is Tundra that turns to swamp when it warms. Look up “permafrost”

The swamp. Just another conspiracy theory.
When will MAGA live in the real world and not the conspiracy theory world?

Probably never, they'd lose 90% of their voters/members.

"The swamp" isn't a conspiracy theory. It is a phrase that talks about government corruption and/or when they do not act in the best interests of The People. You cannot tell me that every person in government is as innocent as the pure driven snow. Nor can you tell me that they often do not put their own special interests ahead of what is actually in the best interests of The People. For example when the ACA was passed Congress put in an exception to the Mandate for anyone in Congress. Every time that Congress Critters exempt themselves from the law you can rest assured that it, or something in it, is not in the best interests of The People or the law benefits them personally in some way.
