Their customers are 40 and younger.
They aren't interested in cowtowing boomers. They will all be dead in 20 yrs or so. But the NFL keeps growing.

Especially the boomers that support white supremacy.
The other type of boomers won't care about a Black National Anthem.

I suppose it would depend upon why they are kneeling. We know the reason for the kneeling in protest of police brutality against the Black community. There was a reason. So what would be the reason for kneeling for this situation?

The NFL is not a political party.
The topic is the NFL and the Black National Anthem.

Neither is an anthem written bout the Land of the Free, when blacks were slaves and NOT free when it was written.
What is all this "White Supremacy" and the "racists" that you keep referencing over and over? Was there some recent 'outrage' in the news that I missed, or are all these complaints now just a constant feature that other-than-Black Americans are accused of on a continuous basis?

But I am curious -- so, you think that Blacks need to have their own 'national anthem' played at an event like the Super Bowl to project their opinions and biases, but nobody else should be given "equal time"...?

Yeah, 'go woke, go broke' -- and Bud Light comes immediately to mind!

Well, in our Constitution the establishment of a national religion is forbidden, but, this thread is about a special interest group thrusting itself into the public view on the same platform as our national anthem with what's supposed to be some kind of alternate, ancillary "Black National Anthem". If the NFL wants to allow that, and the network, obviously, will be glad to stage it, then that's their prerogative... just like it's mine to skip this low-brow leveraging of manufactured "White Supremacist" crimes, or whatever.

And you ask yourself, "What's the real motive? Constant agitation for 'reparations' because of imagined 'White guilt' dredged up from a 100 years ago?" There's always another reason why this kind of crap gets pushed on us....
Yes.
Except you didn't miss it. You started a thread on it.

Sorry if you cant see it, but a national anthem for a certain skin color furthers the segregation push.

Actually it doesn’t, particularly when that anthem that you apparently are just now learning about has existed since the early 20th century.

Actually , it does. Segregation isnt a new concept. Whether this song was created in 20 BC, 500 AD, or was teleported from the future is completely irrelevant.

Having a “national” anthem for a specific race in a mixed race country makes no sense.

Makes perfect sense if you have no desire to unite the races.

Do you think the NFL wants to segregate the races?

They are in the entertainment industry and can perform any song they want. If they want to use their platform to sell segregation, thats on them.

I always find it unfortunate when a thread begins with a total mischaracterization of an aspect of the subject matter. Kneeling was meant to be a reminder of the racism blacks still face. Epitomized by Kaepernick's blacklisting.

Actually it is very relevant. Ya see, it’s no one else’s fault that most of you are just now learning that this anthem existed, despite this thread happening already a year ago. It’s relevant to black people and that’s really the only feeling that matters.

Blacks were emancipated in this country 158 years ago, Dairy. Slavery was abolished in England, France, and the United States by the mid-1800's. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 has been the Law of the Land for 59 years! ALL OF OUR CITIZENS ARE EQUAL BEFORE THE LAW! So what is all this endless pissing-and-moaning about "racists" and "White supremacy" all about? Why do we have to endure the guerrilla-theater antics in some "Black national anthem" stuck right beside the real National Anthem of the United States? And why do you feel justified in saying that we who are disgusted by the idea of staging a "Black national anthem" right up there with the real National Anthem are somehow "racists" just because your faction castigates everybody who doesn't think like they do...?!

I'll tell you why -- because BLM, NFAC, and ANTIFA radical activists and other Leftists aren't satisfied with the amount of "White guilt" they're able to keep 'boiling on the stove' -- no! They want to rub the faces of all other-than-Black citizens of the United States in their little manufactured dream world of "racists", "White supremacists", and, all the horrible ways that they say Blacks are so discriminated against.

This is 2024, Dairy, and all this political, agenda-driven fantasy isn't impressing anybody who MATTERS!

The NFL has multiple interest it has to please to keep the dollars rolling in.

Edit: to clarify what I mean here, I don't think the "NFL" brass came up with this idea.

Actually its not. Why do you think it's relevant? Lets make this easy, if the song was written in 2005 vs 1905, how does that change the discussion right now?

Oh, yes, MONEY is all part of every decision in professional sports! BTW, here's some lists of advertisers for the 2024... useful to keep around while making our own 'purchasing decisions' this year.... I've said for years that the most important 'vote' we have is the one we make with our WALLET!

Well then you also have the players union, different owners, plus all the sponsors as you mentioned.
Next you have the NCAA and the pipelines you create with them.
