Why would they? Then sent them to an appropriate facility on the mainland. Problem solved. DeSantis knows there are no facilities on the island, which is why he sends the asylees there.

So what's the point of MV declaring itself a sanctuary city?

Hard to say given the fact that its not even a city, but a town of 15K people.

An act for which he has no legal authority

I remember when DeSantis sent the first batch of illegals to MV and how Newsom along with others wanted him charged with kidnapping, do you remember that? I also remember how liberals suddenly went silent after they found out the mayors of Denver, El Paso, Chicago and NYC were also sending illegals to other locations. What authority do those mayors have that DeSantis does not?

Considering the political juice who reside on MV, I'm quite certain that, if DeSantis overstepped his authority, then Garland would be all over it, but he's not.

Just say you don’t know what a sanctuary city is. It has nothing to do with having facilities for large groups or displaced migrants.

I know what a sanctuary city is and they're always liberal. The people in MV stand with everyone as long as those everyones aren't standing in MV.

Wrong, they just don’t have facilities for those who need temporary aid, at least for not as many as meatball Ron sent them.
I wonder how florida tax payers feel about Ron Desanctimonious using their tax dollars to send migrants on a vacation they could never afford.

What makes you think Florida has facilities for illegals? Why SHOULD they have those facilities?

In the end it's cheaper for DeSantis than keeping the illegals in Florida. Besides, he was sending a message to liberal elites.

    Yes.

We do have the facilities in Florida, but DeSantis didn't send them from Florida, but from Texas. Florida taxpayers were on the hook for the bill which turned out to be a total rip-off ($615 000).

Sorry, I forgot that DeSantis was helping out Abbott. The last I heard, the illegals in NYC are going to cost more than $12 billion, that's billion with a B, over 4 years.

Again, DeSantis has no legal authority to relocate people.

so I got the location of where the illegals were sent from, DeSantis still sent them.

Does DeSantis have the same legal authority as the mayors of El Paso, Denver, Chicago and NYC? Five people sent illegals on rides to other places, you’re only attacking one. Why?

It's now a generic name for border crossers who didn't receive prior permission/visas to come here. Think about how the left uses MAGA to describe anyone with a conservative viewpoint.

When someone calls a person an illegal, this entire country knows what kind of person we're talking about and it's not about a Korean guy who got a visa, flew here with no expectations of handouts, can support himself while he's here, and then leaves.
