Nah, it isn't like they are Trump and playing make believe that they are Christian. It's a minor miracle there isn't a Hiroshima of divine fire every time he fakes that ****.

The problem with negative campaigning is that everyone can do it. RFK Jr. argues Biden is bigger threat to democracy than Trump, drawing criticism By Meryl Kornfield
No kidding. Kinda ironic for a rapist and serial adulterer who stole money from a charity...........don't ya think?
This one wants to be dictator. He is pandering to those of his supporters that “are tired of all this separation of church and state stuff”. And it goes beyond that, many of his supporters for various reasons find OUR Constitution inconvenient to their beliefs and goals and would gladly trade it and Government BY the PEOPLE to have their way without all that Constitution stuff hamstringing them. Bigots, White Supremacists, Far Right Evangelicals, would gladly trade OUR Constitution for a tRaitor tRump dictatorship; thank you very much!
I remember a poor nun's dismay when another student and I debated if the original apostles had and smoked pot. Poor lady, I sorta felt bad for her. Sorta. Hee hee.
No. There was no cult. Obama didn’t peddle bibles, didn’t stand in front of a church in the middle of a riot he started and wave one upside down. And he never compared himself to Christ.
Agreed. He is peddling himself as a Christ figure to the “give it up to the Lord”crowd. Whose core attraction to evangelism is the promise that they can ignore their responsibilities and do what “god” tells them to. It’s the same mentality that leads these people to accept Trump’s lies, messianic fantasies, and cries of victimhood at face value. But Trump already had this audience. It makes no sense at all for Trump to keep appealing to this crowd, when he should be trying to expand his base. But, then, maybe he sees opportunities in fleecing this crowd in the same way Oliver North, Stephen Cambone and Mike Flynn have. The evangelicals will certainly throw their money at him. And he managed to throw in the old “silent majority”trope, which goes back to Spiro Agnew. Every right wing disc jockey from Limbaugh on down has always assured their all white audiences that they are the “silent majority”.
Many of us disaffected, disregarded Independents do support the exact wording of the Constitution, which stipulates very clearly in its First Amendment: "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech...." Therefore, what is un-American or wrong with people of any religious persuasion asking their own chosen concept of God to help a presidential candidate of their choice? Throughout history, leaders of great nations have been elevated to supernatural heights -- especially in times of great national angst and factional division. You'll remember that Julius Caesar and Augustus Caesar (along with three other emperors of Rome) were actually deified! But I haven't heard that anybody who is serious about wanting to "make America great again" proposing anything approaching deification for Donald Trump!
I can think of many things that are wrong with large crowds of people worshiping a politician as if he were a deity. While it's true that it's protected by the Constitution, if you don't see anything bad about that, then there is no point in me trying to explain it to you. Right! To the point where people could be CRUCIFIED if they dared question the deity. If you believe that justifies MAGAs deifying an indicted politician who is out on bail, I guess there would not be much more I could say to you.
Please tell us where we can find credible information to support your belief that Trump has proposed that he should be deified. One or two links will be just fine! In DEATH, Julius and Augustus Caesar (and three other Roman emperors) were deified. But I don't remember reading that any of them, or Charlemagne, or Napoleon, or Hitler, or Donald Trump, or any other alleged 'contenders' for this honorific had ever requested to be deified while they were alive! But, you may know different.
The "get trump no matter what it takes" movement is now trying to demonize religion. Fail. What they have done is expose their distrust and fear of religion. And that is silly, cause even if they don't believe in God, he still believes in them.
I haven't either. Not explicitly, anyway. But they KNEW they were being deified. And they were more than fine with that. They encouraged it. Corrupt leaders know that ignorant people tend to deify them. All they need is a little "nudge". They just need to present themselves as the representatives of a higher power who is there to "save" them. Hitler knew this. And Trump knows this (not equating Trump to Hitler... just pointing out ONE specific similarity common to most dictators... Use Franco, Pinochet, KJU, Pol Pot... any you want). MAGAs are as easily manipulated as Hitler's or Charlemagne's followers were. The ignorance of the followers is what fuels this. And the deified leader only needs to give a hint here and there. This is why, for so many decades, THIS country regarded politicians who tried to insert themselves in a religious context the way Trump is doing now, were always gazed upon with disdain by most people.
Liberals don't seem to understand that you can gather and pray to God even in a political gathering and it doesn't mean that you're praying to anyone but God
