The nationwide average price for regular gas topped $3.54 a gallon, a spike of more than 45 percent under President Joe Biden, AAA reported Wednesday. --- I'm missing Trump and his $2.20 a gallon.
Did US Gas Prices Drop Below $2 Under Trump? | Snopes.com Why Did Gas Prices Drop in 2020? The implication is that the Trump administration was responsible for those lower gas prices, but as The Associated Press reported in May 2021, the reason why gas prices dipped so low in early 2020 was due to the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., which led to an unprecedented drop in demand for fuel: Gasoline prices didn’t fall [in 2020] because of the Trump administration, as Trump often claims; they plunged because of the coronavirus forcing people to abandon their offices, schools, business trips and vacations. Underscoring the connection to the pandemic shutdown, U.S. gas prices were at their lowest in April 2020 when people were staying home most but have mostly risen since then, according to U.S. Energy Information Administration, even when Trump was still in office.
Did it ever! Both Obama and Trump benefitted from cheap oil prices, after the Bakken Reservoir find in North Dakota. This oil is getting harder and harder to extract, and more specialized fracking methods are required. It gets to the point, where it's cheaper to import oil from the Middle East or Canada. With twice the per capita usage of oil, Americans should be concerned. If we (Americans) are using twice as much oil as other countries for the same amount of product, that's going to be difficult to sustain economically. Not to mention other aspects - polluted cities and greenhouse gases. In summary - GET RID OF THE GAS GUZZLER!
Yeah, everyone get on a bicycle and watch the price of gas go down. Duh. To keep our economy rolling we need to explore for petroleum and pump a lot of petroleum. Then everyone could afford a gas guzzler and the economy would be the best in the world.
lol…now that the quisling trump has colluded with the Saudis to raise the price of oil to help him win the election, you can expect prices to go even higher.
It was $1.89 on election day. When Biden won there were immediate repercussions. A case can be made gasoline under Trump was $1.89 and remained there for a significant length of time. At one point the price of a barrel of oil on the futures market went to -$19/barrel. Yes, that is NEGATIVE.
COVID my friend, COVID. That's like saying Obama drove up gas prices because they had cratered during the crash in the 2000s.
OMG! That is the most asinine statement I think I have ever heard? Your claim is TRUMP is responsible for the rise in gasoline costs and furthermore he "colluded with the Saudis". What a complete fabrication. That dog don't hunt. After shutting down domestic production in the US on his first few days in office oil prices skyrocketed. They also began to rise immediately following the election. When asked WHY he had shut down production resulting in record importation of oil Biden replied, "Because we have to fight Global Warming". Obviously this made no sense whatsoever as it makes little difference to GW whether Americans burn Saudi oil or Domestic oil. Even more hilarious and inane Biden decided to make a much publicized visit to Saudi Arabia to meet with the Crowned Prince (fist bump). In front of the entire journalistic world the Crowned Prince asked Biden, "What can I do for you. Why are you here (Biden hadn't been invited)"? Biden replied, "I came here to see if I could convince you to raise your levels of oil production." The Crowned Prince replied, "You've shut down US production almost completely and driven the price up to $110/barrel in the process. At $110/barrel if we aren't already at maximum production I WOULD WANT TO KNOW WHY. Not only are we at maximum production already, we are doing everything we can to increase our output capability. I'm afraid you have wasted your time undertaking such a long trip." And you think ANYONE would be dumb enough to believe it was Trump's fault?
lol. "last year". Gas under Obama hit $7. It was near 5$ damn near forever. https://www.advisorperspectives.com/dshort/charts/e64b08eb0f6f59dc953ca8913ad3031ebab84764.png
Do try to keep up with the plot. I said that he is attempting that now. He just had a meeting with mbs and when the saudis raise their prices you will be the one paying more and blaming Biden while trump massages your partisan paranoia.
That's quite a leap to read so much into a meeting neither you nor anyone else was privy. I wonder what bias caused you to read it in the most negative light possible? Couldn't it have been the opposite? It might have even been about Qatar, Yemen, Oman, and most likely Iran. Biden might have even requested he visit. Lord knows trump has infinitely more respect abroad than Biden and Trump's rapport with the Crown Prince is quite close. You've just illustrated the perfect example of why Blue Pill swallowing Left-Wing Trump deranged socialists seem to come up with a conspiracy around every corner.
It hit above 7$ where I was. And your graph does a pretty good job of highlighting the relevant differences.
Along with corruption of the justice and intelligence agencies as well as 8 years of stagnation, malaise and low employment? The meat puppet did not make energy production any easier either, Trump easily improved the country by simply rolling back regressive regulations the moonbat messiah and the DNC criminal syndicate enacted. Then along comes a potato who was installed thanks to mail in ballot fraud and prices doubled. I'll tolerate some mean tweets and hope gun control laws are further undermined when Trump comes back.
Trump colluded with the Russians -- LOL. Trump colluded with the Saudis -- LOL. Meanwhile Hunter is raking in money from foreign governments and giving "The Big Guy" 10%. Hunter should have given the IRS 10% -- LOL.
United States produces more crude oil than any country, ever Crude oil production in the United States, including condensate, averaged 12.9 million barrels per day (b/d) in 2023, breaking the previous U.S. and global record of 12.3 million b/d, set in 2019. Gas prices in 2016 was $2.28 on average. In 2017 it was $2.41 on average. In 2018 it was $2.74 on average. In 2019 it was $2.60 on average. No matter how you spin it, not once did gas hit over $3.00 under Trump. Under Biden it hasn't been under $3.00. At one point it was double that in a lot of places.
That's about the way I remember it. And don't forget on his first day in office Biden canceled the crude oil pipeline construction from Canada. That made oil more expensive to have tankers bring it to the USA.
