They were in Iraqi Kurdistan, simply enjoying the beauty of nature when they were kidnapped by an iranian mob and brought to tehran: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-11582699 Kurdistan needs a strong army to protect its territory!
No sorry but in this present climate ANY American hitchhikers found sniffing flowers on the mountainsides of Kurdistan, Pakistan, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Egypt's Sinai, the foothills of Southern Lebanon, near the Golan Heights, in the ravines of North Korea, Chinese/NK border, Russian borders with anywhere.......God there are so many places!!! Basically if they are found licking the morning the dew from a mountain crocus in any of the above and more, with an American passport or a forged Mossad one in their pocket they should be dragged to the nearest mental hospital or jail. Keys should be thrown into Mount Kilimanjaro. End of story.
Well, I know those hikers... I dunno what's wrong with them but they asked Erdogan for help too before. http://www.politicalforum.com/latest-world-news/145956-save-our-kids-mr-erdo.html#post2929591
Admitted? may be under the iranian torture, they were in Qandil mountains, west of Bakhtiar, that is a pure Iraqi Kurdistan territory. Iranians crossed the river to kidnap them.
Not at all, comprehension is dandy, 'accidentally crossed over' is new, not mentioned on TV interview with the lady, they were kidnapped by mullah's army.
I understand, English isnt your first language. Read your own link again , this time with a dictionary. No one is disputing they were in Iranian territory, no one. And no, it was stated from the beginning of this incident that they had "accidentally" crossed the border, which is hard to believe anyway. Its fairly obvious even to the casual observer that these people were not there for casual hiking or to smell the flowers.
Thanks for teaching us English, appreciated. To my understanding your persistence here is to tell us that they indeed crossed the border for spying. Why should Americans physically go into Iranian territory for gathering information about Iran? there are million of Iranian Kurds in Iran who could well pass any information they want, was it so hard to ask them? They were certainly there for hiking and enjoying the beauty of the nature, Kurdistan is one of the most beautiful posts on earth to visit: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzoEJW0KDGo"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzoEJW0KDGo[/ame] [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxf0nzBlDrU"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cxf0nzBlDrU[/ame]
Even if they cross the border, they still find themselves in a no-mans land, a war zone between Kurdish fighters and Iranian forces, inside Iran: http://www.memritv.org/clip/en/2439.htm
Oh..this hurts..but you're right. Being stupid is no excuse.. And I wouldn't go into Mexico with my gringo looks and wander around the markets anymore..We have no 'safe' places these days.
You really must not say things like that until FOX News broadcasts it, which is when most Americans might wake up from their propaganda slumbers.
Lol, thats funny, ignorant kids. Have you read their histories? All 3 are pro IraQI political activists who met at university and have remained friends since . Also they Have an intricate knowledge of the areas concerned having lived and worked there for some time. You people are so gullible.
Seriously, how lazy can you get. You mean you are commenting on this without knowing any facts about it first? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-11270676
Well, sweetcakes..you post it..you prove it.. Thanks for the info though..never heard that about them. I was wrong on how aware they were of the region; but I disagree with the spy issue..they are Mideastern sympathizers.. I'd leave them there myself..
<<< Mod Edit: Flamebaiting >>> bark away PKK, bark away. Begging like a dog for a dream land. Sorry bro, we're not like the Turks, <<< Mod Edit: Offensive language >>> in Iran. Anybody who doesn't like it can sell his/her house and get a one way ticket out of the country. btw Iraqi, take a look at the map of Iran. many Iranian kurds live in the borders of Afghanistan (shah Ismail forced them to move there a few centuries back). 2 million of them are pro Iran shia Kurds. There are at most a couple of million Kurds who are "true" kurds. They live in the borders of Iraq and Turkey. Their numbers are so small in relation to the rest of the population that they have adopted a "I don't give a (*)(*)(*)(*) attitude." That's why in Iran we don't have any problems. Once in a while a couple of Iraqi or Turkish PKK baboons blow up some place and all you guys blow your loads all over your keyboards. Apart from you guys getting an orgasm, nothing else is really accomplished.
I sincerely thank them for teaching us how to chop heads off. we put it to good use on a daily basis against pkk intruders.
Bet they're exchanged within 6 months... Iran sentences 2 American men to 8 years in jail Aug 20,`11 - Two American men arrested more than two years ago while hiking along the Iraq-Iran border have been sentenced to eight years in prison on charges that include espionage, state TV reported Saturday, a sharp blow to hopes their release was imminent.
hiking in kurdistan ? hahaha yeah yeah yeah, they were hikers, and being a hiker is definitely not a cover-up story, they were definitely hikers, and not a western spy. WELL YOU MIGHT BE NAIVE, BUT WE ARE NOT!
just yesterday US announced Iran is no1 country to support terrorism. the groups have been listed are Hamas hizbullah Taliban armed Shia groups in Iraq ansar al suna in other words Iran is next after Syria. I can't wait
