Actually, perhaps to many people's surprise, the United States is really 50 sovereign States united by a contract called the US Constitution.

Those that don't believe this to be a fact should read Article V of the US Constitution and then consider the following.

The States can at anytime call for a Constitutional Convention. The federal government cannot prohibit this convention. The States at that convention can call for the abolition of the US Constitution and with 3/4ths of the States agreeing the United States government would be abolished. Each of the States would then be a sovereign independent country governed by their own State Constitution. Not likely to happen but certainly authorized within the US Constitution itself.

Of course it would present some pragmatic problems. Who gets the gold in Ft Knox for example and who's going to take possession of the US nuclear weapons and military hardware. Certainly those problems could be resolved but would need to be addressed. One thing that would happen is that the entire US debt obligation would become worthless promissory notes as I doubt that any State would honor an obligation to redeem the notes.

As for "God" he/she isn't even a US citizen so obviously the United States isn't really a nation under god as some suggest. This national "motto" was created by stupid people without any consideration for reality. We are currently united (sovereign) states under the US Constitution.

Yes, Rick Perry's Texas would have the highest execution rate based upon population of any nation in the world. It is somewhat ironic that capital punishment violates the ideals established in the Declaration of Independence but we still allow it. Of course for almost 100 years we allowed slavery which also violated those same ideals and today in most States we prohibit same-sex that also violate those ideals as well.

 

It is realy something how Queers and Lezbos can cause so much trouble.

They know they are hated and unwanted in a normal society, but yet throw themselves in it demanding acceptance as part of the norm. And being arrogant about it.

What is sad that in America today there are so many religious bigots that oppose the ideals upon which America was founded which would include equal protection and due process of the law for all People.

Fortunately we have the US Supreme Court that is going to rule on the issue of gay marriage eventually and, as in the case of Loving v Virginia where bigots had discriminatory laws that denied equal protection and due process of the law, the Supreme Court is going to rule that marriage is a Right for all individuals and the prohibitions against same-sex marriage which deny them equal protection and due process of the law are unconstitutional.

Of course the bigots will whine and complain because the Supreme Court actually enforces the US Constitution. Perhaps the bigots need to be sent to their closet until the learn to respect the Rights of others.

All I can think about is what I saw Obama comment on about China's policy to allow one child per family.

If that is the case, those that are willing to have their children full term and adopting them out would reduce the amount of abortions, which I am not totally against.

Homosexuals have the right to marry and have children. We have to have them available for the folks that cannot procreate.

Adopting children from other countries is an alternative but it can be timely and costly.

If we allow homosexual marraige and the states vote for it, our President shouldn't even entertain the idea of one child per family.

Let's look at the whole passage in Luke 6:

What this isn't is a prohibition against critical thought or decrying evil in the world. It's not a gag order against condemning immoral actions and lifestyles. What it is, when you read it within the context of Christ's entire teaching, is a reminder that we are all sinners in need of God's grace. Those redeemed by the blood of Christ ought to remember the wretch they were before grace intervened. We are salt and light on this earth, bringing the light of Christ into the darkness. "Judge not" is not meant to stifle that light, but rather to keep us mindful that we are the saved walking among the unsaved, but we did not save ourselves.

Particularly in regards to the OP subject at hand, homosexuality is not unlike any other mortal sin in its capacity to separate us from the love of God eternally. I may not look down on the homosexual because I myself have committed mortal sin, and but for the grace of God, would be condemned eternally for it. I can, however, point out the sinfulness of that lifestyle and call the sinner to repentence. This isn't judgement. This isn't condemnation. This does not violate the teachings of Christ, it illustrates it.

 

Any two confussed dim-wits can call each other Husband and Husband, or Wife and Wife.

But, in the eyes of the Lord thy God, it's not reconized as a marriage, and condemed by the Almighty.
Homosexuality alone is condemed by God.
So, they can go ahead and defy the creator. I could care less, or give a rosters fart.

Either you're lying about being a priest or you just weren't a very good one. I have a rule to accept at face value anything people claim about their personal lives on this forum because accusing one another of lying about personal information they share is an exercise in attrition. So I'm assuming that you really were a priest. With that said, I'm more inclined to believe that you failed at it, or were defrocked, or fell into scandal. You're certainly ignorant of the sex abuse scandals and what really happened because the Pope had nothing to do with the coverups, nor does the Pope control the inner workings of other diocese, nor does the Pope exercise iron fisted control over the entire Catholic Church as so many are fond of believing.

Not only do you not sound like a priest, you don't even sound Catholic and don't even have a fundamental understanding of how the hierarchy of the Catholic Church works. You sound like an ignorant outsider. No wonder you're no longer in the priesthood. You sucked at being a priest.
