without considering the whole past and this question is raised today, what would be your answer? where did I come from? where did we come from? what is all of this? polscie
I would first have to seek out your definition of "I" and "we". My answer to your question would be dependent upon your application and meaning of those terms. Though I will give you the short version anyway. My body was generated by activities of my Mom and Dad. Though Mom and Dad did not give me life. Life was given to me by God.
ok..........if you consider the past.....you would be then considering, echoing and copying past belief which of course is "God"/"Creation" in the context of The BIble. But without considering the past, and by judging the present day technology could one simply consider that the world was created by "God" in what 3 or 7 days? (bible context). in a material world like this, 21st century, does "God" exist in any equation? no. polscie
I came from the light and I will go into the light. You came from the light and we all are going to hell. Life's an adventure without any guarantees. http://youtu.be/t2iEGlOxTUM
Hey Polscie... why are you not responding to the above? Who is the "I" and the "we" that you referred to in your OP?
let us say.......... you are standing to where you are.... you wonder where you came from........... so how do you construct your question? let us say .......you are standing to where you are.....you wonder where you and the rest of the people came from....so how do you construct your question? and so these questions: (in the context of present time) where did I come from? where did we come from? polscie.
There are far more questions than there are answers. This is a mathematical fact. In any system we can think of that is complex enough, this fact holds. This is why people invent gods, to answer questions they cannot answer, or questions that may never be answered. They just fail to understand that simple mathematical fact.
Or with other words: "I am clever while Christians are idiots" Keeps only one problem: What for heavens sake could a mathematical fact be? Mathematics is a world full of [wonderful] ideas and not a world of [astonishing] facts. The question is in this case: Why are fitting human ideas (we don't know anyone else who is doing mathematics except human beings) with different facts in this world? Are all facts with words or mathematically describable and if: Why is it in this way? http://youtu.be/mMMsk7MliAk
Unanswerable, except in the context of biology. The philosophical is forever a mystery, or until such time of passing over, if there is a place waiting on the other side. A curious mind will continue to quest for an answer, a meaning to all of it. A closed mind will suppose answers based on the pathetically shallow exercise of hard evidence (that which is purported in math or science), assuming such narrow focus is the be all, end all. An angry mind will simply reject the spiritual out of hand, similar to the closed mind, but the motives are different.
Did I say something about Christians ? No I did not. Im sorry you feel an idiot cause you are a Christian. Well, some Christians I know are extremely clever people. I don't know why you bother to take the discussion that way. The fact you're familiar or not with some mathematical theorem has nothing to do with how smart you are, only your background. Anyways, mathematics is defined by logic. Logic is the only known way to test what we think with what we see as reality. One can argue, there are unseen slime demons in his basements, but accepting that will have no meaning any more than accepting Jesus or the Jew or Muslim god. As I said, there are far more questions than answers and people tend to see patterns of answers where there are none.
one can say the question is not answerable because this is the result when the primitve created "God" and every following generation did not have balls to question this, but instead accepted it as real. Now this is the biggest problem the world has ever known. polscie.
I fail to see "the problem" here. Curiosity is healthy and a natural evolution of the human condition. And just how is it that YOU know the primitives "created" God. Maybe they were simply less jaded and more open to the experience than today's so-called intellectuals.
who believes that all these are made in just 7 days? god is not in any equation. only money is found in the equation. global financial crisis. this makes your ..... head spin. polscie
only when the results of the curiosity is productive and not in a god related manners. the belief in the claim of god is all wrong. polscie.
your parents you began as a sperm/egg combination and them single cells combined into one cell and the evolution into a human being grew from the processes of nature into what you are now every breath you take is still within and a part of nature mother earth (nature) nature you live within the body of it (existence itself)
the 'equation' just represents how nature (god) works.............. ie.... the math is the 'name' to know with 'the name' all things can be 'created' math is how your computer was designed medical field automobiles planes test tube babies (life can be born of a virgin) the last word to all argument, is the 'name' (math) to know... mankind created all words but is still a part of nature itself (lives within its body).............. the pinnacle of evolution: nature comprehending itself and 'we the people' (mankind) are who are doing it.
No, if you look at natural history and trace it back to the instant of Creation - you get the very real fact of Creation. You also have these guys called prophets, the revealed guidance of God, the iteral word of God through JC, answered prayers and deep, love centered relationship with God. The answer would be the same.
The answer to any of those questions would be dependent upon your intended perspective of the terms "I" "we" and "this". Explain your intended perspective of those terms and I will be more than happy to answer those questions.
I don't know. But I just came from the sofa. Some came today but far the most of us came from yesterday. When I get to the bottom of all this I'll tell you. Don't hold your breath in the meantime, though.
1. I came from my mother's womb. I never existed before my conception, and the process of living and choosing since birth has brought me here. 2. We are, as Carl Sagan used to say, star dust. We are a convenient and beautiful surprise-- entities of the cosmos capable of contemplating the cosmos. The most indirect but wonderful form of self-awareness. Most directly, we came from tribes of apes that evolved styles of thinking geared towards more complex reasoning and social maneuver. 3. All of this is all there is, and it is beautiful and varied and hard to understand, but the struggle is worth the effort.
