Hi Deaner.

Your question is one which I expected from you sooner rather than later, and deserves a full answer. Unfortunatly I am at a loss for time between now and Saturday the 16th, I have University assignments and an exam to be done amounting to 10,000 words and a two hour exam. I promise you I will answer it then in full.

As a quick reply, the Kronsdat rebellion occurred at the worst possible time. Particulary as they were sailors and it happened right in the middle of the civil war against the imperial governments of old. However I would agree and say that Trotsky may have dealt a little harshly and did not need to condemn so many to death, but they were tried under military courts, and as such their actions were to play into the hands of the whites and mark them as counter-revolutionaries.
It was not just Anarchists who were involved in the rebellion, revionists such as the SRs and the Mensheviks also had a role in the local soviet, and there interests were not that of the workers republic, but in favour the a neo-imperial system.

I think Trotsky fell under the influence of others to easily. You are correct though that they were fascists in what they did and believed. I think that they did those that support a socialist vision a disservice in calling themselves socialists. It makes the battle to influence ideology much harder as people use them as an example all to often as a failure.

Trying to get a capitalist to understand this is like pulling teeth.
All of their thinking is tainted toward corruption as that is what they live.
